How will it reflect badly on wlad if fury goes on to do well? Surely it will reflect worse on him if fury goes on to get beat and knocked out multiple times?
They said the same thing about Ali when he lost to Spinks in the first fight. They said he lost on purpose in order to become the first heavyweight to win the title three times. Also, those who were "foolish" enough to bet big on Spinks must have made a very nice packet.
I only have a small suspicion that Wlad lost on purpose for financial gain from all sides, simply because we never have seen Wlad perform so badly in his recent fights and history of his performances. Fury isn't exactly exceptional, but not taking anything away from fury, it was a great performance provided nothing underhand went on.
I do personally think dodgy dealings do go on in boxing by fixing some fights for financial gain of insiders.
No and btw wlad forgot how old and how shot he was, sure prime wlad would have knocked fury out, but 40yo wlad is just shot , as shot as most great heavyweights were at his age
Boxing is unbelievably corrupt; always has been. Fights do get fixed, of course, however I do understand, on the whole, that the fighters are rarely in on it and the majority of high end fights are genuine. Even when the officiating is totally bent, most world class boxers will still fight to win.
And yet the glass jawed Lewis walked through Vitali's punches like a hot knife to butter and turned Vitali face into a modern day Frankenstein look alike. So that makes Vitali one ****py fighter then, don't you agree.
This post is ridiculous if Vlad lost on purpose on why take a hiding on points ?why not ouit on a injury? After a few rounds then there will be more interest in a rematch.
If he was throwing the fight, why did he jump-headbutted Tyson Fury in pure Holyfield style? Why did he set up the bouncy castle? Why the delay? Why did Steward think Tyson Fury had unique skills and a bright future?
He got complacent from all the less than stellar challenges he has faced. That combined with his advanced age for a boxer puts the loss in perspective. He really has not had to shift out of first gear for a long time and now when he needed to he found out he didn't have it anymore. It happens he is 40 and has given his life to boxing. His legacy is already there and another loss wouldn't really hurt him anymore than the first loss did. Maybe he can turn back the clock and get that desire back it will be interesting to watch. This not an excuse but supposedly his wife has been a basket case also and clearly that doesn't help. He needs to get back to basics and get a coach who can push him if he wants to come back. As for his wife send that girl to her room or some sh*t.
