    ATM there are no challengers in HW that both:

    a) Possess physics to rival Wlad;
    b) Willing to give everything to make WAR in the ring;
    c) Got skills to deliver it.

    We have Chisora who's too small even though he tries.
    We have Thompson/Helenius/Dimitrenko who got physics but all lack both skill and will to fight.
    We got Povetkin/Arreola type of boxers who maybe got will and potentially physics but skillwise were debunked by Adamek/Huck.

    This list can go on forever but imo Wlad will stay champ untill someone who has all 3 qualities shows up or he retires.

    I think the fact that the challengers only get £100k and have to fight in Germany puts many off fighting the brothers.

    Even if it were only £100k which is not true, can you say that Mormeck earned them with his performance?

    Chisoras purse for his fight with Vitali was £100k.

    There itself is a good reason not to fight.

    Because Chisora was a voluntary defence, He had no bargaining tools to negotiate a larger purse. Chisora did the right thing by taking the deal and challenging for a world title. If Chisora had beaten Tyson fury and Helenius he could have got a much larger purse.

    Tricks,

    Here's a fact that few commentators make, especially those who have never been in the ring. The quickest way to get your chin checked to is open up and throw punches.

    Wlad buckled Mormeck's knees early and hurt him. Once fighters feel Wlad's power and range for themselves, they become gun shy for a good reason. Sure Mormeck could have opened up more than guard his head...he would have been out of there even sooner.

    Mormek was too small to counter, not strong enough in the clinches, and gun shy.

    Net-net, many fighters talk during the press conference. Few are willing to walk though fire once they get him. Mercer did it, and Peter in the first fight. Most are " I'm in big trouble, will take shots only when they are open, and try not to get knocked out. " This is why many of Wlad's fights are systematic beat downs. His opponents fear him.

    ...and even if this would happen (hopefully it will, but I can't see it yet) it's not said that Wlad won't be the better / stronger man. It's true though - if this kind of fighter comes out of nowhere, we will have a fight at last.

    Tricks' argumentation is spot on - good thread :good

    Yesterday's fight was boring, but you really can't blame Wlad for it.
