Klitschko: Retire, Rematch or One last winnable fight?

So what is next for Klitschko?

I don't think he will ever get any better than last night, so I would rather not see the rematch with Anthony Joshua. He has nothing left to prove.

Retirement may be a good option. People will remember him as an ATG who was still a top heavyweight at the age of 41. He has nothing to be ashamed of, certainly after last nights performance.

On the other hand, I don't think he deserves to go out with 2 consecutive losses. Maybe he could have one last fight in Germany where he can end his legendary career with a win against a beatable opponent, like Christian Hammer or Ustinov...

I vote for both retirement or one last winnable fight.

He was as focused and mentally prepared as ever vs AJ, but it's not enough when your timing and reflexes aren't what it used to be.

And lets give Wlad credit for doing something no old heavies ever like to sign contracts for====signing a contract to fight the pedigreed up and comer that is a hitter. Almost always, the old champs take on the boxer types. They negotiate themselves through the multitude of champions and do not go after hitters.

And it's simple really---they do not have to be concerned with power shots for all 12 rounds. That changes a lot of things and AJ having 2 fisted power is something the other heavies do not have. They, at best, have 1 hand and 1 punch. Not Joshua. Big big factor.

 

I wouldnt mind a rematch but if he bows out on this then brilliant.

 

I want a rematch but that's just me talking as a fan.

In reality he should probably retire, he is 41, and while I'm amazed he got himself in such great shape and came in so well prepared, at this stage of your career it's hard to hit those heights of performance every time, I have doubts he can do any better.

It would be nice if he had a farewell fight and finished on a win and said goodbye to his fans but he might not have the desire to train for anything less than a meaningful fight, motivation is always a problem late in a career, even for someone as professional as Wlad.

 

He should take an easy fight in Germany- a farewell victory and then retire.

He has nothing left to prove and I do not want to see him in with AJ again.

 

If I'm Wlad, I'm offering Parker a huge payday to come to Germany and put his title on the line.

But as a fan, I prefer if he either retired or rematched Joshua.

 

AJ would only do better in a rematch.

Wlad should target Parker. Bring him over to Germany and retire on a win against a champ.

 

Agree with most here he should make one last farewll fight maybe even vs Parker in New Zealand for the WBO belt.
Other opponents: Dimiternko or Rudenko in Ukranie or the Briggs/Oquendo winner.

But he should stay away from a Joshua rematch Ortiz, Wilder or PEDvetkin he can't beat that guys anymore

 

He should go for Parker and then the rematch. Hearn should let him fight Parker and not make that fight for his boy. If Hearn isn't agreeable then the rematch is unavoidable. I don't see any point in Wlad vs the Briggs Oquendo winner or suchlike.

 

Retirement, he has nothing left to prove.

 

One last winnable fight for the fans like Tyson and Hopkins did. Why not?

 

He should embarrass fury then whoop his was, a non mentally broken wlad destroys a 300lb fury

 

Are you sure he would beat Parker, who also has heavy hands, an iron chin & speed? I am not too confident about that.
