UMM Lewis messed Briggs up bad, and stopped him in a few rounds. BTW Hopkins also once said that Antuwn Echols was better and hit harder then Trinidad. That doesnt make it true.
Ya, that is true. However, Briggs lost to exhaustion (not saying he wouldn't have lost anyway). Look at 3:50 in this clip..no punch landed, Briggs just fell down from exhaustion. He threw a wild punch, missed, and went down. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X7L2io5-Fjs[/ame]
LMAO! You are correct sir. That clip is so funny...Of course Lewis was roughing him up, but looked like nothing to incredibly powerful, then Briggs throws the hook, and falls down. The ref waves it off...WTF?!
Ya, it was really a terrible call by the ref. I think he just assumed Briggs fell from a punch, and then stopped the fight. In reality, the only thing that Briggs fell from, was his own missed punch. Again, not saying Briggs would have won the fight, just saying the final knock down wasn't really a knock down.
Briggs went all out and hurt Lewis, but could not put a dent in Vitali's defense. Vitali would have knocked Lewis out in the next round if Lewis' promoter had not signaled Lewis' doctor to signal Lewis' referee to stop the fight. All Vitali need was one more round and Lewis would have been stopped. Lewis will have to live with that for the rest of his life. Lewis retired rather than face Vitali again. Vitali staggered Lewis, but Lewis did nothing to Vitali except a cut. Vitali broke Lewis' nose, look at lewis 's now! LOL! Vitali offered Lewis millions for a rematch, which Lewis had promised, but Lewis did not want to get his arse knocked out. Angelo Dundee said that Vitali was cheated out of the WBC title that night.
