LaMotta's chin was perhaps the best in the history of the sport. Although a few others can claim such distinction as well.

However, his chin has limitations. Especially when it's put up against heavyweights like Holyfield and Lewis. Those guys would comatise LaMotta.

The point is that weighing between 160 and 170, Fitz has one punch KO's over top drawer modern cruiserweights, really durable guys.

Oh yeah i wasn't arguing the Fiz point, that's why i didn't flat out write it off, i can't. I still don't favour a man to ever stop him though in my personal opinion.

Yeah Wayne McCullough's chin is something unnatural.

These were examples of fighters who either outslicked Benn, looked to survive or fought him past his prime. Lamotta is more likely to take Benn on in the centre of the ring and Benn is just better, faster, stronger, harder hitter and equally as relentless and fit

I'm not saying Benn stops or beats Lamotta for sure, I just put him down as a potential

What about the young high workrate destroyer of a Hopkins? Hopkins in his 20s was a beast, he'd pepper Lamotta at will and if he turned up the pace land enough heavy shots to take him out potentially.

Again I listed fighters who 'may' stop Lamotta, I'm not saying Hopkins does for sure, but Hopkins in his 20s is 1 of the most underrated of offensive fighters

I think in terms of his style, Hopkins is clever enough to land plenty of shots here, so i get what you mean with the shoutout. Ultimately i agree though that he doesn't stop him, if i'm going to make an argument for Hopkins' power it is going to be one for underrated power, and i thin for this job we need flat out devastating power.

Yeah, Hopkins around that time was matched with journeymen. Some of them solid, but for most part they weren't great opponents.

Hopkins was pretty aggressive against Joppy down the stretch. He couldn't knock him out. Trinidad knocked him down a few times and out. Even Eastman had Joppy down late.

Hopkins's power is nothing to shout about when looking at his entire career.

Eastman pissed me off thinking it was the biggest injustice ever after that one, he lost fair.

    Resume thread

I would say that maybe McClellan and more so Ketchel would have chances at knocking him down above anyone else.

Lloyd Marshall was a bigger puncher than Charles at 160lb. In fact Marshall pounded the **** out of Charles at 165lb. Bivins was not a puncher, he was a boxer. Chase was not a puncher. Booker retired with a detached retina. Burley was not a puncher in the same class as Marshall, Cerdan, or Robinson. NO WAY.

The following 175lb fighters danny nardico, Irish Bob Murphy, and Bob Satterfield all hit at least as hard as Archie Moore....in terms of raw power
