Did you watch the Aus/Arg game last week?
It was a good game, Messi is a gun.

 

Yeah, did fairly well though, that said we've always given Argentina a good game even in the bad old days. Womens team on the other hand really needs to improve in several areas; defence, not wandering off with the fairies at crucial points in the game, less amateurish ****ups. On the upside there were points in the game they were stringing good balls together moving forward, even if their finishing (or somebody just making a dogs breakfast of things after a decent buildup) left something to be desired.

Messi is awesome, that goal against Getafe is a classic.

 

Yeah, their defence is a bit like swiss cheese, never looks stable (similar to the mens national team's defence at times).

I've been watching a few of our Olympic qualifiers recently, they look alright. Williams is a handy striker, he'll be well in the picture for the senior team come 2010. Spiranovic is promising, though he hasn't played the last few games. I saw him come on and play in the German Cup final, he got yellow carded for diving in the box

We play Iraq I think in November, the winner will go through to the Olympics. Should be interesting as Iraq have been good at this level for a little while now.

 

I haven't seen the Iraqi juniors play at all, the pool results seem fairly similar though, how do you rate our chances :huh

The Argies have the best up and comers in the world atm. If only we could poach some of them.

 

I haven't seen them play either, I saw them at the last Olympics where they made it to the bronze medal game, but this is an all new team.
