nah he wasn't exposed one bit. They chose a very conservative strategy, Kovalev was hellbent on not overexposing or overpacing himself to avoid getting pulled into the trenches in the later rounds. Obviously he wanted to avoid the mistakes many former opponents were forced to make against BHop.

BTW BHop clearly respected Kovalev's power, the KD in the first was a clear warning sign for him, he was very negative through the fight, didn't throw much, emphasis was on avoid getting hit.

For me personally it also showed that Jackson is a legit coach. He talked tough prefight while developing a sound and conservative strategy behind closed doors, giving sound advice during the fight.
Only viable critic would probably that Kovalev could have shown a bit more initiative earlier than the 12th round where the fight was basically over, he had definately gas left in his tank. His shot selection and accuracy proved to be very good, he clipped BHop constantly to head and body. Who was the last guy who achieved this?

I think Kovalev should also be given credit, he never went past 8 rounds and he took a fight against BHop as his (very possibly) first 12 rounder.
