The only people calling Kovalev past prime now are those who underrated Chilemba. Their the same fans who only watch a few fighters and not boxing as a whole. Kovalev is in his prime and beat Chilemba ( one of the best at LHW) very convincigly and even knocked him down. Although Chilemba was coming off a loss it was a fight he arguably won. Unfortunately for Chilemba there have been many fights in his career where he wasn't given the nod in fights he won. But these box rec warriors wouldn't know it.
I actually agree with you. Could you post like this more and less with the bolded KAN/BUM nickname stuff and broken record trolling?
Its really proof that you have not seen the fight between Alvarez and Chilemba or any of Chilembas fights previously. It is also proof that you have not seen my posting history on Kovalev as I have called him out on his opposition before. But then again you are just a troll who berates anyone who does not agree with you.
Honestly, I would love to have some sensible discussion where Golovkin/Kovalev/Beterbiev/ect are concerned but the Eastern Euro nut gulpers around here make that difficult to do. If those guys are going to continue with hyping up fighters who have done *nothing* in their careers other than come from a certain part of the world then I feel a duty to bring balance back to the equation...
Ward isn't past it but I do feel he's lost his best years between Froch and now. I think the general feeling is Ward doesn't want the fight and JDJ is just saying stuff like this to get into Ward's head. Personally I don't think Ward is scared and the fight will happen. Get this fight on and may the best man win.
Ward might have lost the passion for the sport as he has said in multiple recent interviews I have checked out... Andre don't even watch or keep up with the sport anymore as a fan. His skills are there and has more than enough to beat Kovalev, It's up to SOG tho.
Maybe they don't want to talk to you because instead of talking boxing you resort to childish name calling and would rather berate people than actually watch the fights. You didn't watch the Alvarez-Chilemba fight but instead chose to assume that the loss meant Chilemba actually loss the fight. If your not going to watch the fights please stfu. Kovalev is in his prime. He has beaten Chilemba more convincingly than any other fighter before. Chilemba is one of best fighters at LHW and is usually in the top 10 of 3 out of 4 sanctioning bodies. Chilemba has a solid chin and Kovalev managed to put him down. Chilemba arguably beat Alvarez and many people called it a robbery. These were all valid points but you highlighted it like they were not true because of instead of watching the Alvarez-Chilemba fight you probably read that he lost or looked it up on boxrec.
You clowns can argue about who looks past it, who knocked down who..who fought the better fighter, who fought the guy more like the guy he's fighting in their last fight, but none of that will matter come fight night. Kov has Fouight 2 top level guys and Ward has several. Will it matter? Imo no. Kov is a very good boxer and so is Ward. You can even scream white versus black lol. There will be no excuses for who wins and loses this fight. May the best man win and now you clowns can just stfu and stop arguing about bull**** and talk about the matchup.
One of the judges had it 118-110 for Alvarez. 'Nuff said. Maxim Vlasov, with his 49% KO percentage, managed to put Chelimba down not once but TWICE - in the same round. Like I said, one of the judges had it 118-110 for Alvarez. Valid points? Excuse me while I... LMFAO You haven't made any valid points other than firmly establishing the fact that you're swinging from KANvalev's nutsack. Happy swinging, Tarzan. LOL...
Ward's peak athletic prime is gone yes. However, his ring IQ and sharpness are still at a very high level. Furthermore, when Ward was inactive he was always in the gym. He never gained masses of weight. He never got rusty. He always kept sharp. He knew he would be back in the ring again. That is the mark of a professional.
