I'm curious if Oscar will keep giving Canelo easy fights if it means losing money for Golden Boy promotions

Canelo's purse and the advertisement spent on Canelo's fight also cost a lot more than GGG's PPV. They didn't make a ton of money at all.

    How 250k is triple 150k I don't know either.

300k is more than triple 97k

There wasn't even much advertisement for this fight

Ask anyone on this forum you mean? The idiots who spout 97k also claim 900k for Cotto - Canelo. They're hypocrites. Who listens to people with such an obvious bias?

    Around 900k vs Cotto
    Around 500k vs Amir Khan
    Around 300k vs Liam Smith

    Thiis numbers dont LIE
    Unlike Oscar & Canelo

Stop promising the fight with GGG only to say body aint ready, I'll fight Smith

Next PPV that Canelito has, will be the same low numbers if opponent aint GGG

Fans arent THAT stupid ODLH, that title vacation is still fresh in the memory of true boxing fans

Guys, let's be honest with ourselves. Floyd and Pac didn't hurt boxing. Ppv is your choice. If two guys come along like Floyd and Pac you'll pay another grip to see that fight lol.

What's hurting ppv now is that they are putting on shows and not events. Crawford Postol...did we care how much they sold? They sold the least and this fight was one of the few that was the most anticipated matchup in the last few years because we were 50-50 on this fight.

GG Lemieux, GG Brook, Canelo Khan and Canelo Smith were shows because the outcome was predictable. Bottom line, were any of these fights competitive? All I saw was one sided beat downs. We knew nothing about Postol Crawford. We didn't know that Postol would be controlled so easy and that Crawford was that good a boxer. We knew about the other fighters that GG and Canelo fought and pretty much were spot on in who we thought would win.

What is killing ppv is that they're putting a show on and not an event. Keeping their pockets lined is now the way to go, and I'm not talking about the fighters. The fighters will fight anyone-except Canelo lol.

The ****en undercards are more entertaining now because they are competitive. The undercards might be crap but that one undercard fight might outshine the main event. The last few ppv main events weren't competitive. The only fight that we didn't know the outcome was Postol Crawford. Now we are reduced to arguing about who is the draw, who deserves more and talking that race ****.

If it ends up close to 300,000 buys that's not a bad number for a card with a poor main event and an average, at best, undercard.

With ppv money, live gate, foreign rights, sponsors, etc this show probably makes money which just means GBP and Alvarez can keep fighting overmatched guys like Khan and Smith and charging 60-70$ for it.

I was hoping this card totally crashed since it was such a poor show for a ppv. It wasn't a homerun but it looks like GBP and everyone involved probably did ok on this.

So you're saying the cotto fight didn't do 900k ? Lol

Ok Let me get the cable providers on the phone and tell them they have to return the money they collected because there was a mistake.

Too be fair Arum didn't want Crawford - Postol to be PPV. According to him HBO was low on dates and the only ones available were PPV slots so that was the only way he could get the fight made. He said that the instant he announced the fight as well. So he was just making up an excuse for low PPV sales.
