Lack Of Punching Power

    Has to be Paulie he landed on Hatton very cleanly in the first round , those same clean punches by Manny were making Hatton bounce off the canvas.

    I think Pea's lack of power is often overstated. He didn't score a lot of knockouts, but he obviously hit hard enough to gain his opponent's respect and keep them from walking through him. His power was good enough to supplement his style; with one-punch power he would obviously have more stoppage wins, but he may have developed a riskier and less defensive style.


    Better candidates are pressure fighters who didn't have the power to back it up. Juan Diaz was a good shout, and Wayne McCullough also springs to mind. McCullough had no equalizer when he was getting outboxed, and would have stood a much better chance against Hamed, Morales and Zaragoza if he had a punch to turn it around. Some of his other fights would have been easier as well, and he could potentially have had fewer wars which shortened his prime.
