It's close, I would say even considering Kessler's a better win for Calzaghe than Pavliks win over Taylor, but Pavliks win over Miranda was greater than Calzaghes win over Lacy.

Lacy is very one-demensional, a good middleweight can see his loaded up left hand coming a mile away, which Calzaghe was able to avoid and counter him with ease. Lacy has been exposed as a hype job, watching his last fight, against the contenders Peter Manfredo made me laugh, how anyone believed Calzaghe would lose against Lacy is beyond me.

joe made him look bad and he has some bad performances since, but when you consider his injury in his comeback fight and the time out he took before getting in the ring again i think we can let them go.

Lets not forget the two **** fights Calzaghe had before he fought Jeff Lacy, everyone was writing him off and when Jeff dismatled Ried a fighter who got a SD against Joe you can see why people fancied him. Jeff Lacy was a very live fighter indeed, a definate threat, he was IBF champ going in and betting favourite.

You may have thought Lacy was a overrated fighter from the beginning i dont know, all I know is that it has become very popular to diss Jeff saying how much of a bum he is on ESB, when in reality the only loss he has so far is to Joe Calzaghe...

i see nothing on Mirandas record that suggests he is better than Lacy, all I see is that he has a dodgy chin while Jeffs is quite sturdy.

Its an interesting match up though, I think Miranda is a good fight for jeff to take and Jeff is a good fight for Miranda to take. I hope it happens. Then we will get some of the missing Jeff Lacy fans back.:thumbsup

Fair enough, but wins over Eastmen and Green are pretty good wins, even his knockout of Gibbs was impressive IMO. Lacy is a spent fighter and I would be surprised if he even gets another title shot, let alone wins one. I think the combination of Calzaghe destroying him, his shoulder injury, and the fact he doesnt throw fluid punches, certainly works against him. If Lacey fought Miranda next month I would give it a 80/20 in favor of Miranda, and I wouldnt be surprised to see Lacey get layed out late in this fight.

Calzaghe's two wins are light years ahead of Pavliks.

Miranda and Lacy are both limited.

Taylor is horribly flawed and we'll see how worthless his marginal victories over Hopkins were when Bernard is easily stopped in April.

People talk about Lacy being one dimensional, but Miranda is just as bad. He's a one handed fighter. I call them about even

Kessler is quite a lot better than Taylor, no contest there

Joe's were also masterful displays, and whilst Pavlik was impressive in his sheer strength and power he also got decked a lot, and nearly knocked out

    I think you know where I'm going...Joe Calzaghe's wins

well he did knock out a guy who had never been on the floor in robin ried and took him apart with ease. that was scary stuff for a guy who was feared in europe, was known for being more than solid. was suppose to be a test for lacy...it was a masterclass.
to all those people who say he was a hype job ready to be exposed. he wasnt, he almost had a tysonesque aura about him. brutal dangerous and destructive.

now you can say that he was one dimensional...but that doesnt mean he wasnt a good fighter. many of the great fighters today and in the past where one-dimensional. and i can tell you havent seen lacy fight because it wasnt his just his left hook that was dangerous. it was only becuase he knocked out 3 peeps with a left hook in his first 3 fights was he named it. and it had a nice ring to it.

it was all the punches which he owned which were scary not just that left hook.the rigth uppercut and power jab. and striaght right hand that he used to set up his punches up with.

he is gone now as he hasnt got enough experience to keep up with younger fighter nor enough savy to survive he hasnt expereinced expereince which is now hindering his career.

i don't see why people think Miranda is better than Lacy. Maybe post-injury this is the case, but pre-injury no way!

Fair enough, but watching his fights against Calzaghe and Manfredo, he threw one punch at a time, it was rare to see a combination from him the whole fight. The version that fought Vanderpool did throw combinations, but once he stepped up to competition he skills seem to melt away like a icecream cone on a warm july day.
