He’s admitted plenty of times that he made mistakes. No one bothers to pick it up. That’s all. They’d rather focus on his whinging.

From where we’re sitting, it’s impossible to know whether his mentality is right/wrong. We’re not with him in camp, and we’re not about to witness the approach he’s going to take, we don’t know the discussions him and Roach have had when reviewing the fight immediately after, and we don’t know what tips/advice he may have searched for from Gallagher during his short time with him. Fighters, correctly so, won’t publicly reveal everything they’re thinking. So to criticize/**** on his chances because we haven’t seen him ‘acknowledge’ his flaws, is a bit premature (and stupid). Which is why I've stayed away from assuming the same thing.

Well, i had Khan winning the 1st fight and i expect him to win again. I do think he took Peterson lightly. I see Khan fighting a more disciplined fight and not getting caught in too many exchanges. A lot of jabbing and moving. If he does that, he should do enough to win convincingly.

Khan doesn't have a boxing brain; he doesn't think for himself inside the ring. It's like as if he's a programmed robot and executes the same combo's like always. Once the robot gets touched on his body he goes into a squirtle turtle formation.

Peterson will start putting pressure to Khan from round 1 onwards and win if golden boy politics aren't involved. Khan can't fight inside, he can't fight going backwards, he doesn't throw to the body, his power shots are dismal. Once his speed decreases from round 6 onwards anyone can tag him with silly shots and the thing is he won't deflect them.

If you see in all of peterson's fights (except the timid timmy one) he has adjusted and the fight has been in favour for him after ad******g.

At the press conference he was interviewed by Sky Sports and said he did make mistakes in the first fight and is gonna work very much on his inside game and strength this training camp and that he will stand his ground when need be. I still question whether it will be enough time though, I expect another close fight.

I liked Khan's speech in the press conf. regardless of a few grammatical errors he did say he made lots of mistakes and that he didn't bring his 'A GAME' on the night. And tht this is his last chance make or break.

I blame Freddie; he hasn't taught Amir **** since the Marcos fight except how to throw hooks to the body.

I think Khan's biggest problem is that he doesn't seem to be taking the power up with him.I thought he'd go up to 154 eventually but I'm starting to think he'll struggle to hurt people at 147.I said after the first fight that although I liked Lamont very much,I wondered if that night was a "perfect storm" for him,and he might only have a couple of those performances in him,but facing Khan first might do him the world of good, and if he wins well he might go upwards from there.
I'm still not convinced this will be an easy win for LP.Khan could still take a close decision and surprise a few people.I think as time goes on people are forgetting it was a real pick em going to the scorecards.

That's always been my concern for him. Not just his punching power, but his overall effectiveness. I don't think it'll be the same that it is at 140 - a weight where, when his career is finished, many people will regard he was at his best.

The Peterson fight confirmed it for me that the bigger guys would do him over.

You did call it right Rico. And not many did, myself included. It was only when you and another Khan fan gave very insightful views during fight week that I got an inclination that it would be a much closer fight than first thought.I agree that there's very little chance he will match his achievements at 140 elsewhere, and I get a feeling he'd probably much prefer this fight to be at 147 with regards to making weight.

I read somewhere that, in the recent press conference, he admitted to struggling with the weight for Peterson.

Found that hard to believe, to be honest.

What's your final prediction for the rematch then? I got Peterson by late KO or points.

To me khan needs to do certain things just slightly differently in the rematch. Peterson will know for sure how he needs to fight khan now to win the fight. If khan develops any type of inside game or even some useful punches he will work lamont over. It remains to be seen whether he can do that in one fight.

My gut feeling was always Khan by two or three points, but I'm not sure if I was right about LP and the stars coming together for him that night.
For now I'll stick with my original pick;Khan by close decision with a possible rubber match. But like last time, that could change as fight night approaches.

Did you hear Peterson's comments on a possible rubber match if Khan beat him? A real gentlemen. He said something like; if Khan wins decisively, he'll be cool with that and happily walk away. He won't argue for another fight, unless the fans wanted it.

Khan definitely has skills and his move to LA showed that he is serous about improving them. However, infighting is not in his mentality not does it translate well with his skill set. Unfortunately, his one glaring weakness will probably continue.
