    Its an open secret that HBO reads this forum! Larry Merchant once used the Krispy Kreme line on Kirk Johnson, which of course was used here monthly back in the day.

    What happened with Kirk Johnson was a shame. While in Texas with Curtis Cokes he was a legit contender. Then came the Johnson-Ruiz-Cortez fiasco. Kirk went into that fight ready to win the title. His only mistake was to keep throwing body punches. Every time he landed Ruiz yelled foul & his buddy Cortez warned Johnson for low blows. This all ended when Kirk decked Ruiz with a legit body blow Ruiz faked foul & Cortez DQ'd Kirk. It was robbery
    Kirk lost heart after that stopped training hard literally gave up
    The overweight undertrained Kirk Johnson that fought Vitali was not the real Kirk Johnson he was just there for the paycheck.
    The Kirk Johnson I knew could have boxed Vitali's ears off
