I doubt it. Any light heavyweight who tries to mix it with Langford, is likely to end up seeing stars.
Interesting thoughts both...Stevenson is a very explosive southpaw, but when Langford steps to him, and forces an exchange...Langford would come out the better. He stops Stevenson...maybe early. This might be considered heresy...But Kovalov could give Langford trouble by fighting similarly to how he fought Hopkins...by giving ground and using his length. Wouldn't pick him to beat the immortal Langford...but give him trouble if he fights the right fight? Yup. What say you McVey?
I take Langford to beat them both by ko. Kovalev has better movement than Stevenson but his chin is high. Actually I wouldn't be surprised if Srtevenson beats the Russian.
I agree with you on Langford by KO...it's the most logical assessment. I think stylistically the light heavyweights that could possibly beat Sam are Ezzard Charles, Micheal Spinks....and? Maybe Moore?...But Langford could very well beat them too...He was a force. Where do you place Langford H2H at light heavyweight? Who has a better chance? Perhaps someone like a Loughran or Harold Johnson who stays out of the pocket?
oh lord ,its the old men from the mountain coming down to tell us how great a guy is that we have about 5 seconds of footage on and how he would destroy the guys fighting today it's so sad, you might as well believe in aliens lads ,theres more proof that they exist than there is that langford is as good as you say he is
Sam was a special freak, I pick him over most of the heavyweights in the last 30 years so I think he puts both of these men out at 175lbs but I like the school of hard knocks. There are only a few guys who gave up so much size but made it work and said NO to injury's Sam makes the top 5 of that list
Langford. Kovalev is on his way to becoming a great LHW, Stevenson is tricky and dangerous. But Langford was a great HW in a smaller man's body. Too much power and craft for these guys. It's very difficult to pick any LHW over Langford, let alone most HWs.
