    This. :deal

All these posters excusing this fight as not possible because:
    1. Lara isn't a big name or says,
    2. Lara brings nothing to the table...

Are what's wrong with fans these days.

As it stands now, GBP will probably match him up with somewhat known names first, with the caliber of the opponent taken second. The kid has a belt, and has NOT beaten a top JrMW yet for his career. And now he'll be demanding PPV money most likely. So that gives him an "out" on tough, but unknown fighters. Shame on the lot of you excusing this strategy.

This, Kirkland, or Cotto. I'd buy all 3.

Lara is fighting this saturday. If i was him i woudnt be calling Canelo out right now.Beat the guy next saturday and move towards Canelo_Otherwise ask Ortiz what happened when he was sharpening his teeth for a showdown with Canelo looking past Josesito.
And im Lara's biggest fan in this forum.

Little to win in beating Lara? That would easily be the biggest win of his career, and legitimize him with the ranking he's been given.

Lara and Canelo is a great matchup. A little early but still would be good.

Oh, i know for a Fact is not gonna be Lara.
Let me tell you this;all the calling out and barking about Canelo isnt coming from Lara, its DeCubas. They know they are not getting a shot against canelo but he's trying to make as much noise as possible to set up the stage for next year. The thing is that at 21,canelo is still growing and wont be surprise if he moves to 160 in 2012-13.Lara otherwise pushes it at 154, he can actually fight at 147.He fought Hearns at 160 because coudnt find anybody at 154.
Some posters here keep bringing Molina, but they ignore that Molina has zero interest about a rematch. And i cant say Lara is very excited either.Molina makes you look bad( there is a reason Cintron fought Canelo after been beaten by Molina) But Molina knows he riskes too much against the improved Lara( shield wasnt on his corner when they fought).

I gotta think about this one. What does he walk around at? I know it was Hearns, but he looked damned good in that fight. You know I think fighters need to initiate their fair share of exchanges though. :D

i cant tell you exactly his walkaround weight but he doesnt gain much.Same as Rigondeaux he has a skinny complexion.( not like gamboa)
He never had problems making weight.I think he can handle 160 but he isnt very tall and that gives him some reach disadvantage against the big ones-even if he looked great against giants like PW and Hearns.

No one is excusing this "strategy", some are just pointing out the reality of this business. What are you new to this?

Lara is a good fight for Canelo and I'm willing to bet even his fans want to see this but he doesn't merit this fight any more than some of the other names mentioned.:deal

Some of you just act like prima donnas if specific fights don't take place.

No **** it's the reality. I've been watching this sport probably longer then you've been alive. Back when guys actually accomplished things before they started using the "No one knows him" reason to avoid a fight. As is stand, Canelo is getting the star treatment based on popularity, not results.

So how the **** does saying Canelo should not avoid Lara based on being unknown make me a prima donna? I never once said Lara warrants it more then anyone else or said ONLY this fight needs to happen. Read much?
