    Age: 38
    Weight Class: Junior Middleweight
    Record: 31-4 (18 KO’s)
    Fighting Out Of: Detroit, Michigan

I interviewed, IBF Junior Middleweight Champion, and Kronk fighter, Cornelius “K9″ Bundrage. In his last fight, Bundrage defeated Sechew Powell in St. Charles by unanimous decision.

For those who are unfamiliar with you, at what age did you start boxing?

I first went to a gym at 11. I trained for two weeks at Kronk. My trainer didn’t put me in there to spar. So I left boxing alone. Came back strong at 18. I won the Golden gloves, and the Diamond gloves back to back, two times. I turned pro at 21.

Any fights scheduled in the near future?

I’m willing to fight the best fighters in the world, but the best fighters in the world are avoiding me. It’s in God’s hands, whatever he say goes. It’s a lot of talk out here, but nothing’s on contract right now. All bark, no bite!

Are there any other boxers in your family or are you the first?

There are many fighters in my family, I’m the only boxer (laughs).

What current fighter do you like watching?

Really, that’s hard to say. Whoever that’s considered the best I like to watch them fight to see where I’m at. Am I a better fighter, in my opinion, or if I have more work to do. It’s alot of good fighters out here, and I just want to see the best fight the best. No hand picks.

What fighters did you grow up watching?

Larry Holmes, Mike Tyson, Rocky, Sugar Ray Leonard, Roy Jones, and Tommy Hearns. Oh yeah, and this guy named Tiger in my old neighborhood.

What was your proudest moment in your career?

Good Question. Every fight was huge to me being on the Contender. Winning the World title. Beating the undefeated Russian European champion in Germany on two weeks notice. I was brought in as lunch meat. I shocked the world and received the #2 IBF mandatory spot, and recently beating the guy that gave me my first lost. What over shadows them all now that I can reflect is, my wife and kids being there with me when I lost fights, and everybody else left. That stands out to me. When you’re at the top, everybody wants to be your friend. My wife and kids were there for me, even when I was at the bottom. I needed that. God is great, Jesus for life!

Your 38 years old, you’ve had 36 pro fights, and you’ve paid your dues to the sport of boxing. Despite being the IBF Light Middleweight champion, do you feel as you aren’t getting the proper respect, in terms of big fights?

Well 38 is 22 for me. I will get the big fights eventually. A lot of promoters are protecting there fighters, and tricking the public with these artificial records. I have loses because I fought the best. They are undefeated because they fight the rest. Do your homework. Look who Canelo’s fighting. Alfonso Gomez? He’s not even rated. I’m more than a conqueror. Jesus for life! The dog is coming!

Who would you like to fight next?

Cotto, Canelo, and Floyd. All in the same year. You pick the order. Also Klitschko.

K9 reminds you of a mma fighter who made a transition to boxing.

Don't get me wrong, if I was K9, I would be gunning for the top too.

And honestly, I would not be surprised if Canelo fights K9, but if for some reason that fight doesn't happen, K9 vs Lara is a good fight.

Canelo has good footwork. I don't think other assets in Canelo's game are necessarily as good as Lara's but his footwork is better.

Lara stands in one place for too long.

I don't know why everybody is on Lara's dick for his footwork. I don't see anything special. He typically stands right in front of his opponent.

He looked good against Paul Williams though, but maybe that's because Williams was a southpaw.

When I think of good foowork at 154, I think of Cotto and Martinez.

But next would probably be Canelo.

I don't see what the big deal is with K9 as an opponent for either Alvarez or Lara. He comes to fight, has a belt and is not a welterweight. Lara can either fight K9 or have more stay busy fights because we all know Alvarez will not fight him yet and Mayweather will make a pile of money fighting Cotto in a rematch so scratch him off the list.

Footwork fundamentals are based in balance, you don't have to be dancing in front of your opponent if you can land from a stance where you feel comfortable and don't get hurt.

It would be an interesting fight because of the brute strength of K9, however I would favor Lara.

The one thing is though that Lara does have mental lapses in the ring, and I felt he should have been able to earn a KO on saturday.

He had a guy walking straight in the front door without using a jab at all and failed to make him pay for that convincingly.

Bundrage may get lucky with his looping ****, when Lara is sliding out or he's in a defensive lapse with his earmuffs on.

I'd be interested in watching this fight, doesn't sound like Stewart wants it though, I'm sure they are hoping for the payday against Canelo.

Canelo's has no boxing ability at all, he is beating up on Cab drivers from Tijuana and grandpops on wheelchair Lara foot work is impecable and he stay in the pockect when he wants it once he sees that the opponent can't hurt him or is slow, he will rearrange K9 face and beside the dog doesn't want to fight big cat.

You need to get a new Diamond eye or clean the one you have, canelo is a turtle and Lara will make him quit, there's nothing in Canelo's arsenal that could hurt Lara, K9 doesn't want to face Lara he say it...
