Larry is wayyyyyy overrated on this forum, but that being said- Quarry is not big enough and strong enough to cause him inside problems like Mike Weaver did and not a fast enough counterpuncher to stay on the outside with any success. Quarry might start strong and even win a couple rounds early, but size, speed and technique are all in Larry's favor.
This looks a lot like Holmes vs Spinks … Leon Spinks. Jerry has a few moments here but he keeps stepping into the meat grinder that is Larry’s jab and those accurate, straight-as-an-arrow rights take a toll. Quarry is more durable than Leon so gets into the seventh or eighth … unless that one-ply tissue skin over his eyes gives way as it often did, in which case Holmes slices and dices him up for a cuts stoppage within five.
Hi Guys. The fight and outcome depends on what Quarry is facing Holmes, if it's the slimmer, quicker, lighter, counter puncher of the late 60s, then the fight will last longer and Jerry will be in the contest for most of the fight albeit coming up short, via a late stoppage or wide points defeat, then again, if it's the mid 70s Quarry, pray for a compassionate referee, because he would be beaten to a pulp, stopped in the mid rounds, whilst shipping life shorting shots,to his battered and bleeding once handsome face, watching this likeable brave man take hard hurtful punches late in his career, put seeds of doubt in this " sport " of ours. stay safe guys, chat soon. Mike.
Question 1: definitely yes Question 2: definitely no I see Holmes jab on Quarry's face from round one to the end and i have a feeling so will Quarry.
I like Quarry but he has literally no chance here. Holmes had thee best jab of all time and Jerry was very prone to cuts. Larry by TKO in about 6 rds or so.
