Of course not. That was a Don King special. But Holmes would get KTFO like he did by Tyson, hence the comparison. Larry was a great fighter but matches up poorly against the juggernauts.
Wilder isn't a juggernaut. A fantastic puncher. But Larry on a good night would school him Wilder just isn't on that level, but he would have the biggest punchers chance in history
Mismatch, if an old, slower, plodder like Ortiz can easily out box Wilder then Holmes will not only out box him but rip him apart with fast jabs and right hands. Yeah Wilder has a punchers chance but Holmes had a good chin and like Fury could get up from a huge flush bomb from a huge puncher so even if Wilder lands his right hand flush it isn't going to be enough. Holmes breaks Wilder down and stops him inside 8 rounds.
Yep and if it goes the distance Deonkey becomes the first man in history to have his face completely jabbed off. His entire face slips off at the end of the fight and Larry puts it on, Ed Gein style and parades around the ring.
Total mismatch. I have Holmes in the top 5 ATG HWs. It's debatable than Wilder is even in the current top 10.
Wilder going life and death with the likes of duhaupas confirms to me how this would end. I like the guys but Holmes is an all time great and jabs his face off before stopping him or the corner throwing in the towel. Millennial boxing fans are insufferable
LMFAO! Anyway, Holmes is just not a fair ask. Deontay hasn't faced anyone on that kind of level. Larry Holmes has forgotten more about boxing than Tyson Fury will ever know, and Fury also happens to be the best Wilder has ever faced. While Wilder could never beat Holmes, he can beat almost any HW around today. The experience Deontay gained from fighting Fury 3X, if processed correctly, should be all he needs to prepare him to fight anyone in the division. He could get no better preparation than that, because the best HW in the world showed Deontay just about every look he's ever gonna see from any other fighter (other than Usyk). THAT kind of experience is priceless, and with it, Wilder should be armed & capable to beat anyone around apart from Fury, and maybe Usyk.
Mate , I just got it in for Deonkey because they fed him all those tomato cans and proclaimed him as the second coming. I would be intetested to see him fight Joe Joyce. Joyce has such a great chin and Wilder would land one.
