Now this is a legit win against a real live opponent here. Great fight, Epic performance from a legendary ATG champ. Larry is one of the best of all time.

Thanks for bringing back Larry's coming out party. Anybody who thinks Tyson stops a peak Holmes should study this one carefully.

An absolute brilliant performance. Holmes was a total mastercraftsman. And yes I do believe a prime Holmes stops a prime Tyson. This is Holmes at his best.

Yes, Frank may have not been a good opponent, but Earnie definetely is.

Well, this doesn't really have to do with the Tyson fight, unless you're talking about Holmes' Killer instinct and punching power.

mmm I think so too, but considering how durable Tyson was, it's hard to say exactly.

Amazing fight! Holmes is exceptionally fast with his punches not only the jab. Uses combination's well and is brilliant with the uppercut. Can take a helluva shot too! Thanks for posting this!

It would be interesting to know how many viewers are seeing Holmes-Shavers I for the first time. Earnie was coming off the loss to Ali which many thought he deserved to win. He also built up an early insurmountable lead prior to taking out Tiger Williams in that torrid final round. Only Holmes could dominate him like that during the late 1970s.
