Larry Holmes vs Joe Louis

    Hard one to call. People saying Holmes would get stopped are not well versed in his toughness and chin. Shavers hit him with his best right hand, which is arguably the best right hand ever, and Holmes popped right back up and won. Only Mike Tyson could stop a somewhat past it and unprepared Holmes.

    Still, I think Louis makes Holmes uncomfortable enough to not really get in gear and takes a UD.

    Firstly Mendoza, everyone does - everyone who has ever fought, ever.

    Secondly, no he didn't :lol: Not really. Schmeling troubled him with the right, Godoy didn't throw a jab at him all night (not literally, but you know...), Farr got outjabbed, Walcott was Walcott, Brion got hideously out-jabbed...the only guy that I can think of that was known for his jab that troubled him with the jab was Charles, way past best.

    Thats about right...Louis had counter-punching ability for every punch and was a thinker in the ring
