Bad fight for both men. Liston did terrible against Ali…but he wasn’t prime and I both fights ended oddly w out a real showing. First by injury second by who the heck knows what happened. Liston did struggle against movers but Larry also struggled against hard hitters. Some who weren’t nearly as skilled as Liston. I think Larry is winning the fight till he’s not and Liston was a much better finisher than shavers. Catches Larry when Larry is taking a round off from his dancing. Fight could easily go Holmes decision I wouldn’t place a bet here. Gun to head Liston KO 6
Yeah...I got 3 times bigger in past 5 year and added 20 pounds of muscle, I could do everything easier and I can lift heavier things but I'm not stronger? Laughable.
In the past 5-years you've trebled in size, whilst putting on 20lbs of muscle? Were you extremely small 5-years ago or are you now extremely fat?
I was skinny, focusing only on running and cardio but last 5 years calisthenics, chopping woods etc...I added 20 pounds of muscle and I'm stronger than ever.
I was joking, taking your statement you'd trebled in size literally. If you'd trebled in size over the past 5-years by adding 20lbs of muscle and nothing else, then 5 years ago you'd have weighed 10lbs.
I only having my point, Liston can't beat Ali and prime Holmes was better than 1964 Ali who had no fighting experience as the one from 1967. 1967 is better than prime Holmes tho.
No...Sonny was KO'd by the "immortal" Leotis Martin. Sonny knocks Martin on his ass...Martin gets up...and when Liston gets cut...and Howard Cosell starts yelling about "Sonny's tasting his own blood"...Liston folds up and gets KO'd by Martin's right hand. When he comes to...Cosell asks Liston..."Sonny...what happened?" Liston says "I don't know...you tell me!" So overrated on this site...
C'mon man, Liston was washed and pretty damn old by the time he fought Leotis Martin. He lost the fight but busted Martin up sufficiently to end his career prematurely. Do you (for example) hold Mike Tyson's defeat against Danny Williams against him in matchups involving Iron Mike? Joe Louis' defeat against Marciano? EDIT : I picked Holmes decision btw, I'm not coming at this from a specifically pro-Sonny bias.
