    Minotauro mentioned "close decision" not robbery, and a fight like Holmes - Witherspoon was indeed a close decision, as was the Williams fight and many will also cite the Norton stouch. Holmes got all 3. Overall his career panned out at least fair IMO.

    Holmes a top 10maybe ,probably top 5 NO MATTER WHAT!!!!I had Norton fight seesaw,Thought Larry won bothSpinks settos. Had McCall ekeing out win. Larry was faded when facing Tyson...? is who would have won vs. George????...winna is.....:rofl

    What if Tim Witherspoon got the nod against Larry, would Larry have been able to come back and be champ?

    I don't think it was a knock on Holmes that he didn't beat Spinks, it was more a compliment on Spinks to pull it off twice, regardless of who won the decisions. When two greats fight, you have to compliment the one who won and think the guy who lost just lost to another great.
