Tell me how HBO has been pushing Williams soo hard when this is only his 2nd fight on the network. How is he a product of HBO when they kicked him to the curb after the Quintana fight and Paul had to go back to his home network, Showtime, for the rematch. Cut the BS man, it is clear you don't like Paul Williams, mainly because people are starting to take notice of him right now, but atleast keep your criticisms in the realm of reality.

What the ****? Do some research man, HBO has televised more fights of Williams than any other network.

He made his HBO debut against Walter Matthysse on a BAD card, then headlined a BAD card against Sharmba Mitchell, then fought on the undercard of the HBO PPV Mayweather/Baldomir fight, then fought Margarito on the main event of a WCB card, then headlined a BAD card against Quintana, had one fight on Showtime in the rematch, and then headlined a WCB bout against Winky Wright.

That's at least 6 fights on HBO.

Give me Larry Merchant anyday over that incompetent twit Kellerman. And I'm no Merchant fan.

Larry showed last night why he should be put out to pasture: consistent errors, irrelevant comments, and quite possibly the dumbest post fight analysis I've ever witnessed in my 60 years of following boxing.

Someone fire Larry's senile ass already and replace him with Max full-time. Now Max Kellerman -- there's a kid with some spunk! There's someone who doesn't talk like he's sedated. There's someone who's the future face of HBO Boxing.

My bad if he has had more fights on HBO, I remember seeing him on ShoBox all the time back in the day.

Larry can be disliked cause he calls it like it is....Yea he likes the Heavys and he is a HBO employee, so he is promoting a Mexican Heavy...because the latins are BIG PPV buyers..so he is a company man, other than that he is better than Kellerman any day and Max has improved

    Ahhhh... "spunk!" Good Lord.

The guys who are obsessive about their favorites but know little about them are one thing. But why get obsessive and learn everything there is to know about the people you hate?

Do something you actually like; it's good for you. Don't choke on all that bile.

Carlos Quintana, Vince Phillips, ANTONIO GAH DAMN Margarito, Sharmba Mitchell AND Winky Wright. He main evented on HBO against ALL those guys. ALL OF THEM.

Edit: Just forgot HBO ASKED Goosen to put him on the Baldomir/PBF PPV card. HBO ASKED him to put Williams on the card. Along with Nipples.

Becasue Bob Arum had a show that night on HBO and AGAIN...Arum HATES Paul Williams. Pavlik/Lockett and JML/Ponce DeLeon was picked ahead of a Williams/Quintana rematch.

If you were a promoter what would you promote an event held at a library (boring ass Winky/Punisher slapfest) or an event held at Sunset Strip Club (tubby thumping the veteran a lot of dopes on this board thought would win)?
Get real, watching Paul Williams fight Winky Wright was as exciting as taking a HIV test.

Oh I like the fight. I was just saying that if I was handling williams, I'd keep him away from Pav for the time being. It's a styles thing. Kelly can make the double jab -- right hand work against Paul. That's obvious. No fighter against whom Kelly made that work has seen the end of 8.

    You obviously can't read.

    I'm a fan of Larry.

Usually, he does a very good job and asks fighters the hard questions others are afraid to ask.

But last night, he had an off night.

Are you really serious here ?

Do you know anything about context ?

The Jameel who faced Wlad was a prime 32 year old, coming off a string of 27 wins.

His three victories previous to his Klitschko fight were over Michael Grant, Lance Whittaker and Shannon Briggs.

The Jameel who face Chritobal was a retired 39 year old who had lost three of his last four fights.

And Arreola did not lay any where near the beating on him that Klitschko did.

    You saw last night's fight.

Jameel could have easily gotten up but chose not to.

I doubt you even saw the Klitschko-McCline fight.

It was much less one-sided than the undercard, and the skill level of its participants greatly exceeded the skill level of either fighter on the undercard.

Entertainment is subjective and in the eye of the beholder.

You enjoyed the undercard more, I enjoyed the main event more.

We can leave it at that.

Lord help boxing if that unqualified punk is "the future."

I'm no fan of Merchant, but like that boxing journalist said, replacing him with Kellerman is "like replacing Picasso with the guy who does Elvis paintings outside of Graceland."

If they had to replace Merchant, you'd think they get somebody qualified like Al Bernstein!!!
