People don't need to watch his fights if they find him boring. And Larry Merchant simply showed lack of respect towards Rigo by saying that stuff. There are people who like to watch Rigo and prefer him like he is, rather than if he started acting like an idiot to gain attention, similar what Floyd Mayweather has done.

If being "boring" is the only thing people got on Rigo, then he has nothing to worry about in the ring.

The greatest fighters of all time and the boxers that get remembered for generations are the ones that please the fans and provide entertainment. Muhammed Ali, Sugar ray Leonard, you name all the top fighters of all time they were all entertainers. They had the fans on the edge of their seats in many of their fights and the POINT is the POINT is had they chosen to they could have won their fights much easily because they were also excellent tacticians but they preferred to mix **** up and entertain the fans and thats why they will be rememberd forever.

So Rigo threw more punches than his rivals in their last two fights and he is boring.

He threw more power shots against Agbeko than Floyd against Canelo and he is boring while the cherrypicker is the PPV king...

OMG... and the previous fight were two fighters are gassed and out on their feets for four rounds is FOTY candidate...

    Yeah, boxing is dead...

Yuo blame his opponents, Rigo takes away self esteem from his opponents in one round and by round 5 they just dont do **** just stand i think, it tends to happen because Rigo lands every time they even try to do something, Rigos fault is that he is so damn good:good

If Rigo is so skilled and great, why doesn't he close the show? Instead of playing tag, why doesn't he just take his over matched opponent out, or at least show some forward aggression, and turn a "stinker" into a barn burner?

Does Rigo lack diversity with offensive skill? Can he not initiate and fight forward? I can't really consider him great if he lacks this ability.

People are paying to be entertained, they want to see how you can fight, and how you handle adversity. They want a fighter that can take a guy out, or at least press the action. Fans don't much care for fighters that are just trying to minimize the fight, they paid to see a FIGHT.

Larry was right, Rigo's style is that of an amateur, not a prizefighter. A prize fighter fights for a prize, the prize is offered up by the fans, Rigo is robbing the fans.

Of course he did, Larry Merchant is just a blood hungry twat who does his very best to hate on slick fighters who rely on great defense.
