****ing noobs Merchant was far from getting owned, what you forgot is that Mayweather ended up crying in the post fight conference.
Really when? I remember RJJ at the desk with Merchant telling him that if he had ever boxed before he'd know what Roy was talkin about, to which Merchant half assedly quipped "We can disagree without having to pull rank Roy."
Merchant said something about Hopkins fighting Jr Middleweights and Hopkins said something like "if you knew your history you'd know that back in the day there was no Jr. Widdleweight class so I'd have been fighting these guys anyways."
Ahhhh much appreciated. I guess this kind of puts the way Hopkins talked to Merchant after his fight with Tarver into better context. It came off as a little strange that he was so "we've had good times and bad times"-esque to Merchant when I remember Larry was very supportive of him in favor of Roy Jones Jr. That's what happens when you go away from boxing for a few years. Appreciate it man.
lol. if you cant match wits, just talk over him and repeat the same thing and that will put him in his place.
that was seriously classic when roy jones tells merchant "see you know stuff like that when youve been in the ring"
Floyd's fighting style is not exactly the way the inventors of the boxing sport envisioned the way it should be fought.
lol. Floyd got very defensive. Merchant did have a point, Floyd came in as a gladiator to entertain, people walked out the fight so was it entertaining? Steward & Lampley backed what Merchant said after and at post press conference, Floyd was crying and wanting to retire because of all the "boring" comments about that particular fight.
