Merchant is objective and tells it how it is, seems people want a yes man on there with no personality.

I wish Merchant were 40yrs younger so we could look forward to impartial commentry on what we actually see, as opposed to what people want to hear and a bunch of yes men praising all the time.

 

Freshen it up.

Throw the money about, get Berestain, keep Jones, Kellerman is okay and so is Steward on occasion, I'd like to see Paulie as a commentater, he's very well articulated and on point more often than not.

I don't know his name, but there's an American man who works for Primetime (Or Boxnation) here in the UK who comes across as very passionate, he just needs to tweak his technical knowlege.

 

Kellerman.I liked his honesty in the jmm pac fight.

 

Steward gets on my nerves with his" hes looking very strong and fighting a good fight".Mutha****er its barely 10 seconds into the first round of 12 round fight. You want to hear steward contradict himself just listen to his commentary.

 

i like tarver and jones, kellerman is good, although sometimes i think he needs to be leashed as otherwise he just goes off on irellevant rants about bull****, lampley does his job, steward is ok although once hes made a point he cant stop ****ing emphasising it, foreman and lennox were both awful, i like that dude bob off hbo too.

 

How the **** could i forget about tarver.Dude is a good commentor with boxing knowledge and common sense.

Easily my favorite. Not even close....And why the hell does anyone still like Lampley? He was OK in the 90s but he has become the most obnoxious ******* one could ask for. Not to mention that he's a drama queen better suited to calling play by plays on Jersey Shore

Merchant is fine. He knows his **** even if he takes irrational hates against fighters. Kellerman's gotten so much better over the last three years - he was awful when he started. Lampley's a bit of a cheerleader now.

Honestly, I'd get Buffer as the blow-by-blow man. He really knows his stuff, isn't so hyperactive and has as much history as Lampley. Steward is ok in context, but I'd prefer someone like Bernard Hopkins as the colour commentator.

Overall, I really think HBO could do with getting a younger team in place. Everyone's over 40 and it means you get really stale material all the time.

 

I love the guy, but he wears his bias on his sleeve.

 

I felt bad for merchant when floyd went off on him but i now salute you floyd.You did the right thing.

 

Idiot. Merchant clearly disrespects a whole slew of fighters depending on if he's had his regular bowel movement for the day or not. He's a temperamental old coot. He was great when he was younger, but now he just doesn't give a **** and it shows.
