Yes, I remember taking note of the fact Frazier was out-jabbing Foster too. He really nullified Foster. And that left hook at the end... ohh man. One of Frazier's best left hooks on film. Bone-crushing - you feel it immediately for Foster.

I made a highlight of Bob Foster and thus revisited a couple of his fights. Everyone has seen Foster's KO of Tiger but he actually had a bit of a struggle dealing with Tiger's strength and counter-punching prior to that. Eventually he got his jab going and started tagging Tiger with it. Despite being 7-8 inches taller, Foster was actually ducking down to avoid Tiger's punches. Commentator Don Dunphy said it best, "How do you miss a puncher over Foster's head?" At this time Tiger was very much committed to the Biafran cause and may have overlooked the challenge a much taller Foster posed. When asked about the KO, he said there was no pain, no suffering, nothing but darkness. Foster's title defense against Andy Kendall was one of the better performances I've seen from him, overall. Kendall was tough but he could not avoid Foster's punches. Foster actually tripled up on the right hand once and cut Kendall to bits with the jab. The ending was savage as Foster was landing punches at will on a defenseless Kendall in the corner. The crowd seemed to boo the stoppage despite Kendall laying half-conscious and battered on the canvas. Ray Anderson ran a marathon around Foster who was slowly stalking him and trying to catch him but never managed to. Despite being able to cut off the ring, Anderson always managed to get out unharmed. It was purely a defensive effort by him. Foster claimed he truly hated Vicente Rondon who was the "other" light heavyweight title holder at the time. The fight turned out to be a mismatch. Rondon was defensive but Foster set him up with jabs to the body, came over the top with the right hand and finished him off with left hooks. Rondon later went 10 rounds with Earnie Shavers but you wouldn't have known based on this performance. He had allegedly said to Foster before the fight that he "liked" getting hit with hard punches and that it'd only wake him up, unfortunately for him Foster's punches put him to sleep for what seemed to be ages. Rondon did not move in several minutes in a scene that was rather worrying. He came out alright, though. Only his ego was damaged.
