What's ur opinions on last nights card. On last nights showing IMO Saunders can win world title of korobov or lee Eubank prob at euro level can defo come back Buglioni is a ko waiting to happen do t get hype in this guy at all Gavin has went miles backwards. Whereas skeete prob better than I thought Chisora Is done and fury ready for a povetkin like fight
Saunders can win a title, but he will be more of a "belt-holder" than a true world champ. I see him as being a fringe world level fighter but he looks to have a solid chin and he's still young enough to improve though. Eubank has bad fundamentals. Terrible plodding footwork and he relied on too many wild, wide swings with too few straight punches. He can come back but he has a lot of improvements to make. I can't see how Gavin will ever do anything at all. Good boxing skills but he doesn't have enough activity or power.
Billy Joe Saunders is a light middle weight. Surely can lose the 6 pounds to get down to that weight. Eubank's only success was just bullying him in the last few rounds with size and weight advantage
fury proved what a decent boxer he can be if he doesn't get dragged into a brawl, can fight southpaw too, would say he's got a good claim to be no2 in hw division at the moment, and think he's got the best chance out of anyone to beat Vlad. think BJS has a decent shout against korabov / lee, BJS vs lee for a world title will be a big fight. last nights card was too long though, a lot of booing in the crowd, wouldn't have been happy to pay 80 odd quid to watch some of the undercards. public transport had probably stopped by the time the fight finished too, which may have ****ed a lot of people off.
I enjoyed the card. Interesting fights. Mitchell Smith didn't do to badly against Kovacs but I was expecting a bit more from him. Robinson, though one paced, gave Buglioni a good fight. Buglioni gets a good following and while not looking like a world beater he is a good British operator and will probably get the odd high profile fight. I enjoyed the Skeetes Gavin fight. Skeetes made Gavin work I thought a draw might have been fairer result. Saunders just had a bit more skill than Eubank. Be interesting to see if he can develop a little more, thought he let himself get drawn into a s****py fight in the later half of the fight. Took some big shots but do we really know if Eubanks can bang? He has not been in with any higher level boxers in a competive before. Eubank has a fair bit to do as I think a heavier handed opponent than Saunders takes him at this stage. Fury surprised me. He made that fight with Chisora look very easy. Makes me wonder how much Chisora has left now. Chisora didn't know how to deal with Fury or didn't want to deal with him, very odd given the level Chisora has boxed at. It's a pity that the Haye fight never came off for Fury as I felt at the time Fury would beat Haye. Don't think the Kiltchskos will want to fight Fury, he just looks too awkward.
Boxing needs to sort out the times of its main events or have a deal with public transport. Fury could do still with losing another stone or so, but it seems he is as ready as he is going to be for a Wlad fight. Saunders still needs a bit of development if he wants to get to the very top. Eubank can come back strong from this. Those of a certain generation, may see similarities between this bout, and one of the last really good Area title bouts between Spencer Oliver and Patrick Mullings.
That boxing will always be in the doldrums for as long as its so badly run. The last two weekends have turned out awful.
Fury can be very good when focused. Saunders is classy for 8 rounds but fades away later. Eubank has bad footwork and work rate. Needs to change his current training regime. Chisora is finished, not even a contender. Gavin will not be a world champ, he's European level. Shouldn't have the nerve to mutter Khan's name, he gets stopped easily. Skeete is better than most of us thought, but he didn't throw enough punches to win the fight.
Gavin as much as I like him and he showed great heart in his lsdt fight is nowhere near ready for Brook or Khan. Think he will do well getting a Euro strap. Fury didnt get out of 2nd gear and being honest no need 2. Cant see him fight Klit in 2015. Chisora I just cant understand all that time to prepare and there is big guys he could have used in the build up. It looked like end of 1st round he didnt want to know and was looking for a way out. When a boxer and trainer start whispering to each other its time to pull them out. Chisora just looked awful last night and should retire. I would be suprised if he continues
he's 30/31 I think, still got a few years in him, he's got a "name" which means he'll be good for fights against Joshua and price possibly. can't see him getting any title shots, anytime soon though. gavin should move to LWW,
Can't really argue with anything that's been said above. Fury boxes well. Chisora's finished at world level but there's always big money fights for a name heavyweight so he'd be daft to retire just yet. BJS can cut it, Junior might be able to learn and improve. Gavin is Euro-level barring something unforeseen suddenly happening. Buglioni is British/Commonwealth standard but he sells tickets so he might s****e a soft challenge for a vacant bet at a better level than that. On reflection the card got some unjustified abuse last night. There were too many fights but the big ones were all more or less 50/50s on paper. It's not the promoter's fault that Chisora had nothing to offer, Eubank took five rounds to warm up or that Gavin is so unentertaining. They could have spread it over two nights and had two decent cards.
