I don’t think you should get on board - British or not, that’s your choice. My issue is the anti Joshua vibe ... bordering on hate. If he’d abused a vulnerable women in the street & showed zero remorse (BJS) - maybe I’d get that. But his worst crime - seemingly a lack of charisma. I’m a huge Fury fan too, like most of us are. He’s a legend & compulsive viewing in & out of the ring, but he’s also a complete one off. Most boxers would look pretty bland alongside Fury.
Take Lewis off that list and i'd agree, how anyone could like Lewis when he was active i'll never know, Hide was a bollox as well, but I agree with your whole post Twenty bar them pair, the reason I cant take to him is he's a closet hardcore racist
Fair point, regarding fury, he does pretty much dominate press conferences. There more to it than lack of charisma, if anything Joshua has it in spades, which is why he goes down so well with the media, I just don’t take to his personality myself, I don’t dislike him either particularly but don’t really root for him. Someone like Dubois for instance, who you wouldn’t say is particularly mr personality, I can take to, I’m already rooting for him more than I ever did with AJ, I like the kid. I think if AJ wins the rematch under fair circumstances I might feel more positive towards him, it would be a statement that couldn’t be denied, but I don’t like all this fighting in Saudi Arabia stuff, he said originally he would like to make a statement and win the titles back at the original venue. I get tired of him and his team sending out mixed messages.
I’m watching the sky interview with Anna wool house just now and god is AJ full! He’s a big handsome bugger but he has a personality like joe joyce. Always comes across as if he doesn’t quiet know what he’s talking about and it’s all been fed to him before hand.
I don’t hate him - I don’t know him so how can I hate him? I just don’t like the public persona we see. It’s not just the lack of charisma. As referenced in my post, the Eddie Chambers incident has influenced my opinion of him. I suggest you read up on it if you aren’t familiar.
Dito the Saudi thing - that’s a disgrace - not sure how much say he had in that though, he said he wanted Cardif.
That's fine, but it raises questions about why you can so easily take to a guy who thinks gay people should be shot (Fury) then puts on some fake 'I've got no issue with them' persona when he's clearly been told to turn it down.
Think a lot of the hatred comes from the fact that he's the golden boy of Eddie, Sly Sports and that he was the catalyst for the Pay Per Pudding scam getting out of control. Without AJ there would be no Whyte-Rivas or Fury-Schwarz being PPV. Personally I have no hatred whatsoever towards AJ, at one point though he was the next Lennox Lewis and still quite like watching him fight even if he has been exposed.
No, it doesn’t raise any questions with anyone else but you. I can take to who I want to take to. For the record though, Joshua has talked about the black superior race. Nobody’s perfect.
I'm not saying you can't take to who you want to. But there's something a bit odd about a guy who raises questions about Joshua's views when Fury is a 'gays should be shot women should be in the kitchen' type of bloke. If you like that, fair enough.
It isn't fair to hold against fury for what he said far long ago in the past if he has mended his views. People can change, which is why many no longer hold it against Joshua that he use to sell drugs and bully members in his own community. He no longer participates in such behavior so it is right not to hold it against Joshua just so it is right to look past Fury's old comments since on the surface he no longer holds those beliefs There are of course many other reasons why Fury should be disliked which is more to do with boxing than his belief. Which is why I do not support either Fury or Joshua, both dubious characters in and outside the ring, hypocrites and liars of the worst kind. Both juicing whilst trying to forge a legacy fighting bums.
