I think that, combined with Ruiz dealing with his new found stardom, are possibly the two most significant factors heading into the rematch. Ruiz hasn't ever had to deal with that sort of money and fame before - it could undo him if he's not managed properly.
They’re bringing him in a bit leaner for the rematch according to Robles. I think we’ll see a highly motivated Ruiz for this rematch, desperate not to be just another Douglas or Rahman. I really believe Joshua is going to try and hold centre ring this time rather than retreat on the backfoot with a wide stance. I reckon that would be the best way of him boxing Ruiz as AJ is easy pickings on the retreat.
Personally don't think he has reflected well on this experience of the loss and certainly learned nothing to help him moving forward in the ring. He was concussed by Baby Blobby and should really retire before he is seriously hurt.

Not true, Whyte has been criticised for the drug allegations, Fury has been criticised for the fights he's taken in 2019. It's fairly balanced on here in my opinion.
I think it is true - every word, every action is analysed to death - even when he says nothing (the 3 second delay!) that obviously must mean something! No other fighter gets that.
That could be partly because how he's been handled and marketed. His image has been very controlled, including interviews. Fury and Whyte have never had a filter.
Good point - maybe also by association. Most fans cant stand Hearn & view AJ as his vehicle to dominating PPV - which of course everyone hates too.
That Sky interview was really reaching for the excuses, like letting Ruiz hold the belts made a difference. It didn't seem to when AJ was trying to take his head off in the third round. That has to be a record for how many excuses an interviewer has thrown at a fighter, even AJ looked overwhelmed by it.
This. I feel the exact same. I just can't relate to the guy, and I've never been able to put my finger on why. I don't dislike him either, I just feel flat as a pancake about him, exactly like you said he might as well be from France or something. Thinking about it now, it may have something to do with feeling that he is from London, rather than England or the UK. He just feels to me like a londoner of the sort that has never left the city (except to fly to Dubai). The sort with a dodgy jafaican. I say that as someone who has worked in London his whole life.

Watched 23 minutes of it so far. Noticed that Rob McCracken warned him not to fight Ruiz and to stick to either Charr or Hunter and Rob made reference to Joshua regarding this, afterwards. That’s quite telling that not only did Rob think it was the wrong choice of opponent for him but also that his advice was ignored.
