I'm still shaking my head he never landed a single decent body shot WTF. Surely he had better constructed plan of attack than just throw the bowler once every two rounds. Is it possible under the spotlight he simply froze up and forgot how to box the way he does.

Karem said: 'U obviously know a lot about boxing.. Leapai was fat compared to Klitscko, he should have countered size difference with speed. Leapai knew wat he was in for, it's not like he was surprised by his reach and power. get Mick Kirby on here hel tell u himself Alex wasn't properly prepared '
    ...........................................

I've prepared to fight much taller and longer reached fighters; me, with the greatest of trainers and educators at my side, and a fair bit of experience, I found that the theory and practise of prepared strategies that we worked with, often failed in the bout, not because I was lazy or was not able to use the strategy, but because often the practise that was used in training, actually failed to measure up to what occured in the bout.

Even with the best of sparring partners who are big and lanky, many are often less skilled and less technically advanced than the blokes you might be fighting; like Klitch - who is a masterful monster....... Alex with his lack of physical height, reach, did his best, and failed against the very best who had massive advantage in height, reach and skill that goes with this.

Fair point, but he's what most 'serious' challenges would have done. He should have been over in Germany or Russia sparring similar fighters u can't prepare for a fight of this magnitude in a shed out Gatton way. Did u see his face wen he saw the facilities in Germany on the doco?

All I'm saying is that Alex cannot say he gave it his all when he came in at that weight, which wasn't muscle. His performance showed.

I dont know about the last weeks of his preparation.
You say he should have been sparring similar fighters (like Kitcho??) and I say that there would not be too many blokes around who matched Klitcho in size etc...then you have the political lock-out from locals, who will not assist in seeing their godlike Klitcho disadvantaged.
I do not know about the look on Leapai's face when shown the facilities in Germany.
    Looks mean nothing to me.

When i watched the fight, I felt like swearing at Alex for his lack of ability, but what I would have been swearing at was his lack of physical height and reach and the incredible physical advantage and skill that was being applied by Klitch.

There was no one to blame; well, perhaps Leapai's genitic failure to get some tall/long genes.

I don't want to argue this out any more; it is my opinion, that Alex did his very best.
It was a mis-match, really, of height, reach and skill. Full stop.

Just a typical style versus style fight , unless Thornberry had a patented move ie[ bob and weave ,a simple bullrush , the old 1 , 2 and clinch etc] that Alex could have practiced and practiced 10,000 times in the last 4 months it was always gunna end this way. They had to come up with a plan to get inside Vlads punching pocket but listening to post fight interviews they did'nt . Now makes me realise even more the genius of old school trainers Eddie Futch and Yank Durham how they straightened out Joe Fraziers footwork and worked relentlessly and a bob and weave movement to get under Alis left jabs . Still cant believe the total lack of any skill Alex has especially footwork - worst I've ever seen from any heavy worldwide - contender to domestic level.

Alex Leapai had some head movement early in his career. For some reason he abandoned it somewhere along the line.

Nob jockey, leapai could have honed his skills for the next ten years, would make no difference,, he hasn't got the skill level of wlad and will never, no matter how many hours of training he does, so you think he should stay fighting regional titles because YOU weren't happy with the level of skill in the fight, he should pass up his biggest payday because YOU say so, you need to stick your head back in your ass where it belongs ya fucstick:beat:beat

Don't mistake my contempt for you as some form of internet win dickhead. The only dumb kunt would be you whingeing with your bull**** opinions. :patsch Reading your dribble you would think you know Alex better than he knows himself - "he can't do this, he won't do this in ten years, blah, blah, blah."

STFU - Pure**** would have been a better choice. :deal

I thought I had made a suggestion :huh - in fact several times and others put it even better than me (Karam for example).
