Hearn did ok by Selby, got him to the world title which should have led to big money fights whether with matchroom or Haymon. Lee went with Haymon which was more then understandable at the time, Unfortunately, he performed poorly against Montiel and then the PBC money dried up. Would love to know, why Hearn couldn’t/wouldn’t do anything with him since his return to the uk market though. Lee’s in the best place now though - beat this guy in December then take Warrington early next year.
Hearn didn't fail DeGale, DeGale done a lot of damage to his profile before and after the Groves fight, he was hated and many boxing fans took great delight in his loss to Groves but Hearn took him to a world title and turned a lot of those boos in to cheers and made him a fair bit of money. As for Froch, Froch retired, Hearn can't be blamed for that so I don't think you can see any of that as failure. Callum Smith would have been a nice fight, I agree with you there.
This content is protected What world champion has to sell tickets through their own instagram? I’m a big fan of Selby’s but his career trajectory is shocking.
I like Selby and think he' a good solid fighter. Showed great character fighting a week after his mum died. All thes belts and versions of dilutes the idea of world champion. Selby is another example of this
He's not doing the best but he's not doing too badly either compared to the average guy. He hasn't really got the style, size or personality to be a star so it it what it is I guess.
