I think what we have learned from this thread today is that many Brits dont do -

    a. irony, and

    b. sarcasm

lads why all the hate for lee?
i know is opposition is brutal and vera beat him ...will he ever be allowed to forget that night alot of top fighters have lost against weaker opposition sucj as hopkins marquez pacman etc...
j taylor was qouted b4 as sayin he hoped he wasnt around by the time lee was a contender as he was a beast in the ring
the chap poesses good attributes in the ring such as speed power and range
his defence isnt great but chin seems ok....why won steward a hall of fame trainer put so much time into him if he didnt have faith in him
dont think he has a great shot to beat martinez as he needs experience against top 20 and top 10 fighters first but he has a shot nonetheless
he done a number on belgechem who barker went life and death with and done a number on gibbs who wasnt pisspoor and had a absolute ******* of a ko against carl daniels in his 7th fight

why exactly does every one honestly regard him so lowly??

I think the thing a lot of people are asking is, why do so many of his fans regard him so highly?

plain and simple its because he is so popular.

It was the small as Duddy, the many Brits couldnt get their tiny minds around the fact that Duddy was so limited yet so popular.

It was frequently trotted out that he was disliked because he was hyped so much. When questioned why who hyped him and what did they say to hype him, the accuser usually moonwalked out of the conversation.

You learn to develop a thick skin and realise that they havent really fully thought out their argument and they are not willing to be educated on the matter. ho hum!

maybe its because of the performances we saw him put in as a professional?

sure, he hasnt replicated those performances as a pro but when you see the ability he had as an amateur if is difficult to conceed that he may just go on and be as good as a pro.

Look at what Audley achieved as an amateur and the number of chances that he got, I dont think that Lee is cut enough slack.

He is a classy guy, intelligent, speaks well and charming. I find it hard to be overly harsh on the lad.

obviously theres is some bias among Irish fans about Lee but no more than any other nationality. Some of us are biased in our supported of our fighters but im sure if you asked Irish fans who would win the Martinez fight 95% they Would say Martinez. A lot of irish fans who are talking about this fight are simply giving Lee a chance of Lee beating Martinez, which obviously like any fighter he has. I see nothing wrong with that, and i dont see Irish fans as being any more biased than other nationalities.

had a look on the general
the views on lee arent nearly as spiteful about lee
not many givin him a chance like meself but id still be delighted if it came off
its a fight that if he doesnt win he can still learn alot from compared to waht hes doin at the moment
