Great for boxing this. How can more people coming into the sport not be good for boxing? Tuiberon wasn't the best opponent by any stretch of the imagination but he was world ranked with two of the governing bodies and the crowd was incredible. Yes there was one idiot who threw a beach ball in the ring which is bad however don't hate the kid just because he has a fan base, its so illogical. Selby in my opinion would box rings around him at the minute however Warrington is still a very good fighter.
Very hyped, great engine, but will never reach top level without a good enough punch, the opponent was very tough to give him credit but match room are puttin on some terrible undercards
I couldn't care less if he is Matchroom. BJS or anyone could do it and it would be great for boxing. As someone who has grown up around football I think they are the most passionate fans, loudest and create the best atmospheres. Granted there are the fair share of idiots that come along with it but I think in this case the good outweighs the bad.
Matchroom's regular cards are on a level with Hennessy's cards on Channel Five. Although to be fair Mick a couple of his cards threw up MOTY Contenders last year.
I havent ever seen you criticize Matchroom, Eddie or Sky. Just constantly backing every thing they do and every show they put on. How you can still continue to do that after the dross thats been shown recently i will never know....unless of course you're affiliated in some way which i suspect.
I have criticised, however not taking it as far as you guys do because they are the only ones showing British boxing at the minute and therefore appreciate that. They have been poor of recent and in a thread made today I spoke briefly about that and said they were poor. The thing is though if some people here got their wish and Hearn just stopped promoting, we wouldn't get any shows and that's the last thing I want. I compare him to other promoters and there isn't one doing a good job currently and I certainly don't see FW or Hennessey doing a better job than Hearn at the minute. I back certain things they do because you have a lot of people who just attack everything they do or come up with some theory that they have done something for such and such to happen, and that just irritates me because at times they cant do anything right.
I may not agre with beachie17 much but any boxing is better than none. Its now on tv more in the usa which is great for all here. Yes some of the cards in the uk are not great but it is still better than nothing
Quantity over quality on the shows we have had this year on Sky,very average cards. To me no point having four hour live shows with maybe one competitive fight on the bill? The headline fights Hull,Newcastle and Leeds very average. For PPV anyone with a Sky subscription is already doing that.
I enjoy seeing fighters progress and develop,to have tv exposure but the cards need to be better structured. Warrington fair play to him shifts loads of tickets and will be looked after by matchroom because of this. Last night and other cards on tv this year could have been vastly better by having what I call trade fights.Look at the end of May fight that has gone under the radar on the PPV card Ryder v Blackwell would have been the sort of fight ideal as chief support imo.
