Legal or otherwise it was good to see hopkins come a cropper with that tactic.

    Ive hated that maneouver of Hops for years;
He throws a right, drops his head and then charges/leans into his opponent. All in the same move.

He may (though he's often not looking) land the right, if not he may land the head. If both thats a bonus and 'what a legend of ringcraft he is, amazing!'
if neither connect, the opponent is climbed on/grabbed anyway so cant work or counter and the boring, spoling (dirty?) tactic cycle begins.

Its great he's fighting at his age, but not when he resorts to that ****,which he frequently does.

Good on Chaz for his 'get the fuk off of me!' response.
It was gratifying and i dont care if its legal or not or whether Hops is genuinely injured.
I hope he is for excessive use of that cheap BS maneouver.

Ok theres plenty of Hops/CD threads, but i just wanted to say this as its bugged me with him for a while, so it was nice to see some 'Instant Karma'

I have been saying the same thing for years and yet nobody ever understood what I was trying to relate in comment. How can you not see that he comes in with his head first.

Its a horrible cheating dirty cop-out of a ***** move isnt it?
The hopeful right, head down/charge, grab and/or climb-'combination'.

Imagine his opponents resorted to that ****?:verysad

Yes, that's the bad version of Hopkins we all expected to show up last night. He was the same guy against Calzaghe, so this shouldn't have surprised anyone.

Hopkins is a compelling figure because he has made a career out of this stuff, but in a way it would be fitting for him to injure himself into retirement.

I agree. Now we need Bradley and Ward to do something similar.

Still wonder wheter Wards recent cut was from headbutt training or not :think

Wouldnt want to be the sparring partner, thats for sure

Bradley and Ward will be the new headbutt masters :deal Currently they still lack Hopkins and Holyfields subtility though.

Funny how the four I mentioned are Americans :think Any non Americans that are good with the head?

Not to the Level of my idol Holy or fellow legend Hops Malden? no.
I think the next generation of Bradley and Ward are unchallenged outside the U.S. too.

My fellow scouser Tony Bellew showed early promise the other night, but Terry O' Connor read him the riot act and may have killed that billy goat career at birth.

    .....
And then grab and spoil if it fails.
Take that slime move out of his 'Arsenal' and his career wouldnt be nearly as prolonged.
