Lennox Lewis - Top 50 ATG or not?

:-( I think you are probably the only serious fan on this forum who still thinks Calzaghe belongs in the same stratosphere as the rest of these guys. His resume is dreadful, and he certainly doesn't deserve to be ranked anywhere near as high as Lennox Lewis the most dominant heavyweight champion of his generation. Calzaghe is far closer to guys like Winky Wright, Kostya Tszyu and Jose Luis Castillo than he is to guys like Manny Pacquiao, Floyd Mayweather and Roy Jones. He sticks out on that list like a swollen testicle.

 I'd love to see you try. I doubt you even know 200 boxers.

    i voted top50 ATG in refering to H2H , not p4p.
p4p he was not top 50.
    h2h / hw he is a definite top10.

Top 50? No, not in my mind.

I have him ranked #7 overall as a heavyweight. That inherently makes him an ATG, but that does not make him top 50.

I would probably say top 100, though.

The way I look at it is he would have had a chance against any heavyweight in history IMO.

So I say yeah top 50.

    Not to worry, Popkins.

There`s closer to 60 names on that list anyway, remove him if you must, the fact is there were still 50 better p4p fighters than Lennox Lewis, which was actually the point of the list.

    :good

you cannot get knocked out the way he did and make even the top 100 , to show Lewis and his talents remember frank bruno fight losing on points , but managed to turn it around, but also fights like the ray mercer bout , what lennox was and still is , is a man who could see opportunity made his money , which has to be respected , but not atg top 50 no chance

In my opinion I think Lennox is a little overated,I think he is a lower level ATG,he barely cracks my Hwt top 10 I think I had him like 9 0r 10 last time i did a list. On the Pfp list id probably have him around 70-80

I can't honestly understand anyone who claims that Lewis is not top 10 ATG at heavyweight. By skill and H2H he has to be in the top 3.

He lost once when out of shape in a location known to gas athlets quickly from the height impact, and once to an addict powerhouse full on coke. I would not want to see what that McCall fully coked would have done to the mini-sized superstars of the past.

His resume is as at least as good if not better than the resume of Lopez, agree?
There are a lot of word-of-mouth-to-greatness boxers like Eder Joffre who never fought outside of their country and don't have big wins or real depth in their resume but are considered TOP 30 ATG.
The classic forums is full of these pat me on the back and I'll pat you back discussions where "classic forum posters" call boxers like Carlos Zarate ATG and when you ask them why they don't have an answer.

As for Lewis he is easily TOP50 ATG.

Top 3:huh No way:nono He was kod twice in his prime and probably didnt deserve the decision against Mercer. I think hes lucky he got a faded Holyfield and not a prime one, same with Tyson who pretty much stopped trying after a good first round.

P4P? Certainly not, though he'd make the HW top 10 for sure.
