Mavrovic didn't have the power to throw a final punch that would have knocked Lewis down or knocked him out...
Well said Lewis had masterpieces like: Ruddock, Golota, Briggs, Grant... Only from that perspective can we see how well Mavrovic performed; no worse than David Tua. Only unlike Tua:
my thoughts exactly. I saw Lewis asked if he thought he’d have been able to beat Usyk, and he said exactly this. “If that had been me throwing those…”
Usyk got hit by those uppercuts because Fury used his feet, stepped back and made Usyk chase. It's much easier to pepper a guy lunging in at you. I don't think Lewis would have been landing as many because he'd give Usyk more of an opportunity to use his lateral movement. I do agree that Lewis' uppercut is a brutal punch and better than Fury's.
Lewis stepped back against Holyfield when he landed this uppercut. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/E11Z0QkXsAMuRs4.jpg Usyk usually tries to hold the center of the ring when he uses angles he isn't like Ali
I remember watching this fight live, my expectations were very low. But Mavrovic really impressed me by going the distance and winning a couple rounds along the way. I think this was his last fight, and when you really think about it, not a bad way to go out.
