Lennox Lewis's best performance ?

as he should be:thumbsup yeah with celtic certain guys get a pass (henrik larsson) and certain guys become pariahs

 

I thought a lot of Celtic fans hated him whilst he was there.... even though he won the league every season and did better in the Champions League than O'Neill :think

 

really? hadn't heard that. i mean i loved the guy. he had a great managerial style, had the ability to set up a techincally sound team and gave Celtic fans a ton of success. Martin O'Neill is the greatest manager of my lifetime, by far, but Gordon was pretty damn good. Just mad that when we didn't win the league he bolted and we're left picking up the pieces :!:

 

I don't think Lewis ever looked better than he did in the Ruddock fight.

 

Lewis was spectacular against Ruddock, but the most important fight to his career was the Mercer fight.

 

Looked best or best result?

The Tua fight arguably stnds out as a picture perfect performence.

His best win is another matter.

Most people would say the Holyfield rematch but what about the Klitschko fight?

Consider that nobody can win a round against this guy today, and an old fat Lewis beat the snot out of him.

 

Yeah I think the Tua fight is one of,if not his best technical performance.


The most enjoyable for me personally is probably between Rahman II, Ruddock or Klitschko.

 

rahman 2 was probably the most motivated and bloodthirsty lewis ever

On an unrelated subject, that is an awesome picture of Ali in your avatar. Every inch of his body is absolutely well defined.. He was an unbelievable athletic specimen in his prime.

 

That fight against Ruddock was Lewis at his best - he was a much better fighter then in my opinion - so much lighter and quicker - he moved like a basketball player when he was 16 stone 3, instead of the lumberous 17 and half stone beefcake he became later - back then he was slim trim and venomous, he had spring, snap, and something to prove and that first right hand that put Razor down was the best punch he ever threw in my opinion. Agree with nearly everything on here, very difficult to pick a best performance but i would go with Morrison. As mentioned earlier it was the perfect combination of the young punching Lennox with Steward inspired boxer of his later years. I agree that Lewis was at his peak that night against Morrison.

Very difficult to pick though, Tua was a technical masterclass so that along with Ruddock & Rahman 2 get honourable mentions from me.

Not only as good as any performance he ever had, but in probably his biggest fight pre-Holyfield.
