Exactly and then any other thread gets deleted and this hot topic can be debated in one solitary place, that way all the Klittards can be rounded into one thread.

I hope you remove any bias or previous opinion and read my post and hopefully realize and believe in it. I also hope you can appreciate what Vitali achieved against Lewis a little more after this.

Getting hit by punches doesn't automatically mean getting cut will occur. I see that you're trying to prove the point by talking about Vitali's defense. I will give the fact that Lewis did land punches. Lewis is the best heavyweight of his era, and he also has the size to back him up. He could hit any HW without any problem with his size and skill. However, Vitali's defense isn't bad. Lewis is extremely skilled and Lewis himself didn't land that many punches, it just seemed more because Vitali never gets hit.

However, punches don't equal cuts. Vitali punched the **** out of Shannon Briggs, and there were no cuts at all. Briggs had a bruised face after the fight, and almost died, but the guy had no cuts! Vitali hit Lewis A LOT more but Lewis didn't get any cuts. A cuts victory is just luck. It does happen from punches, but it doesn't happen by outboxing an opponent.

But forgetting about cuts, I'd like to also address the so called "powerless" Vitali. Vitali is known as a guy who never wins fights early on, and his style is to beat his opponent down and finish them off in the late rounds. Vitali never knocks people out in the early rounds, it's extremely rare. The fact was that Vitali almost KO'd Lewis in the 2nd by stunning him badly, and was applying the regular beatdown. In the 8th or 9th, classic Vitali style, Lewis was going down. He wouldn't have taken the beatdown any longer, and he would have been down like the rest. You can't deny it either, Lewis doesn't have the chin to survive 8-9 rounds of a barrage of Vitali's punches.

Lewis in his prime also never beats Vitali because Vitali has the superior chin and skill. Vitali always outboxes Lewis because he has more skill and a better arsenal. Lewis has the better punching power, but there are simply men you cannot put on the canvas. Vitali is one of those men, and matches between them would be wars that would always end by a KO victory for Vitali.

:good Its the most recycled subject on ESB, if we can contain it in one place then the quality of the forum will hopefully get better.

The fight was what it was, just like the Chris Byrd fight. There are two facts, fact #1 that both Lewis and Byrd beat Vitali and won FAIRLY by TKO and fact #2 that Vitali was winning both fights and lost because of technicality. That we cant argue with. The question is who would have won had the fights continued. This we dont know and its a guessing game, some may say that Vitali was fresher and would KO Lewis in the next round, other will say that Vitalis face was so badly cut he would get stopped anyway because of this cut.

Actually its come to light recently that Vitali's promoter infact payed Kirk Johnson's team money to step aside an let their fighter get the championship shot.
Also part of the deal was Kirk would get the chance to fight Vitali if he won.
They knew all this months in advance
