OK, help me out. Are you saying that fight had two or three true candidates for best round (insert number here) of all time and that you’d vote each of those as the best 7th, 8th and 9th round of all time? Because that seems unlikely.

Look at the other nominees for those rounds and tell me if you think these rounds are better.

Not the 7th round. Let's lose that. It would be up against stiff competition and it would be more filler. So again, let's lose the 7th. However, the 8th and 10th are two rounds that could stand with the best of fights. They were that good. I only wish the clarity was better. We do need more competition in the 8th with only 3 fights to choose from - even though that result may be a lock. The 10th round of the competition seems to be fairly loaded, so if you want to lose the 10th, I'm OK with that. So let's just add the 8th round of Giardello v Turner if that's OK.

Pat, I watched an excellent round to add to round 3 when you get around to it. Round 3 of Juan Manuel Marquez v Michael Katsidis

Great stuff, Scar - I was thinking round 3 looked a little thin. Was looking for another one but could only come up with Joshua-Ruiz 1. But no way is that better than the rounds nominated already.

Outstanding. Were either of these guys ever in a bad fight?

Marquez went through that weight jumping period from lightweight to welterweight where he just seemed to be in a series of exciting fights, didn't he? Definitely one of my favourite fighters of the last 15 years or so.

Apart from round 8 which has five nominations currently, every one of the first 10 rounds has at least 6 nominations each, which seems a good number to choose from.

The ones that are still lacking a bit of depth in terms of nominations are rounds 12 (4), 14 (4) and 15 (3) - still scratching my head on more contenders for those.

It's quality over quantity, though, I suppose.
