I'm almost certain Smoger will ref it. I'm also certain it'll be a waste of Smoger. Don't be surprised if it's a Rubio style fight where Mora comes to run and survive for 12 rounds.
I'll PM one of the Team Pavlik folks who post on here right away, so they can tell Kelly. I'm sure he'll be devestated.
I have a confession to make Arriba. I watched some tape of Mora todayatsch He will come in looking to emulate Hopkins, but he will not be able to demonstrate the finer points of BHop's footwork, and Pav will be at 100% and the fight is at 160 not a catchweight. Mora will not be able to do the quick and slick left-right-slightly-foward moves like Bernard. He'll move left and get hit on the ear with left hooks -- he'll move right and get battered. He'll carry his left to low, and get beat up for it. He'll try to clinch and get a right forearm across the chest followed by a hard 1-2. Pavlik/Lockett was only slightly more of a mismatch than this crap.
I don't agree. Rubio fought a completely different fight than he usually does becuse he was petrified of Pavlik's power. Mora will be the same except...he runs more.
I like Bayless with his "what I say you must obey". Also when he said "buena suerte" before Cotto-Margo it sounded just like Dave Chappelle.
You could be right. Remember what Tyson said? "Everybody has a plan, until I hit 'em in the mouth." I think that has happened to several of KP's opponents. They had the right plan until the 2nd or 3rd round, and then **** just fell apart on 'em.
I don't know if this was the first series, I only saw a few of the shows, but I remember Sugar Ray Leonard stopping buy and doing what was supposed to be some light sparring with someone and they tried to take his ****ing head off to prove how great they were. Would this have been Mora?
Exactly my point really. Smoger doesn't get involved unless he has too. If the fighter still has a pulse, he can still fight.
Pavlik nailed Rubio with a good punch in the first and I think that changed Rubio's game plan. Rubio hadn't gotten started at that point, and afterwards, was afraid to. I don't think he came in with that plan like some seem to think.
I do not think Rubio came in planning to run all night either. He just got the **** scared out of him in the first couple rounds, and froze up.
