Let's be honest about Joe Joyce

I've heard of fighters falling in love with their power but I've never seen a fighter fall in love with their chin before. That was only going to end one way.

 

For me, it was Zhang 2 that really showed how badly managed/trained he was. I know it's not as easy as this, but anyone getting Zhang past the halfway mark and forcing a pace, either by attack or defense has a chance. The big man doesn't like his cardio. Joyce looked like he'd never seen Zhang before and knew nothing about him. Joe was know for having a really good engine, known for forcing a pace that he looked like he couldn't sustain. I genuinely thought he'd stop Zhang both times!! He also had success to the body in fight one...jeez, I really don't understand his fight 2 tactics. I think Zhang is overrated and I'd take the top four guys, for me Usyk, Dubois, Fury and AJ to beat him right now.

 

You couldn't possibly put Anthony Joshua or Tyson Fury in the top four at present. Both are well on the slide and I think this year will make it clearer who the top four really is.

 

That's why he deserves the Joshua retirement payday.

So wait, two men who fought 24 rounds each with the divisions best and pushed him properly hard can't be top four? I'd maybe concede Parker should be top four but Zhang, Bakole etc...nope, who have they beaten. For me an top four or five without AJ or Fury is absolute unwarranted revisionism. Zhang scraped past and/or lost on paper to Hrgovic. Parker beat him. He hits hard but has the mobility of a double wardrobe and the gas tank of a moped.

 

Zhang rematch as well you could see iirc Joyce tried to switch stance, was certainly hesitant as had felt enough the first fight.

Joyce slow, awkward style but really didn't do much other than throw out jabs that were countered and hard, Zhang knew the rematch was won way before it ended.

Joyce good chin, heart but slow and age doesn't matter to all fighters but to me he looked like father time also had said your best has passed.

 

Not your finest analysis. Bruce Tea aka Brixton Bummer literally has about 12 accounts currently on the spin, while his mate Potwash turns a blind eye to that and accuses me of doing what his mate does - unlesss that is actually him. They both whinge just about as much. The difference is Potwash licks a bit of arse to keep in the good books of the regulars, somehow. Both the biggest bellends on the forum by far.

This section of the forum needs a good clean up. I admit I've been a dickhead on here in the past on times and said things I regret, been banned for a few weeks (normally before a big fight what would do my head in!!) realised I was being a fool and stopped. The difference is you don't know when to stop mate. I don't believe this is the real you.

He was a decent fighter but had some big weaknesses. I think he got over hyped but has done well out of boxing.
