There is a double standard because one fighter is criticized for doing something while the other one is praised for doing the same or nearly the same thing. People praise Cotto's wins over Zab and Mosley and bash PBF's wins over Zab and Oscar it's obvious and if you can't see it you're blind. They do it because they like one fighter and dislike the other.

Much better? :rofl  You call going life and death with Mosley in a much closer fight that was disputed here much better add the fact that PBF fought a younger Oscar at 154 for his first fight on Oscar's terms a nothing fight? Not to mention all this coming from a guy who picked Oscar to KO PBF...credibility killer right there.:patsch

my last 10 posts have been all within a couple of the most worthless threads I have ever seen here in a while. Good job @ increasing the quality of this forum, your thought provoking thread is a thing of genius.

Were Mayweather and Cotto seen as equals when each fought Zab? That's what I am asking, because THAT is the basis for this supposd double standard.

It's the same if Julio Cesar Chavez Jr had beaten Alfonso Gomez. It would seem like a good win for him, while being a tune up win for Cotto. NOT a double standard you simpleton. :patsch

Up until he fought Judah, who had he beaten that was ranked? Beating ranked fighters is what makes you a top contender. All you can do is look at this 8 year win streak. Here's a newsflash newbie....Shotgum Gomez went that long w/o a loss, and had a single better win up until he faced Margarito. WOuld GOMEZ then have ben a worthy opponent for the World Title?

 Oh man....yes, techncally he did. Did that make him a world champ to you? Dude....if you are going to post that type of nonesense, I recommend you cut the "I'm so smart" act, because everyone and their momma knows Zab having that strap was bull****.

Congrats, you've admitted he was the worst world champ. And that worst world champ was the guy who beat Judah, who's in the running for 2nd worst world WW champ ever. Yes, the two guys Floyd beat. Thanks for ding the work for me. BTW..the strap is only as good as the guy who you beat. If it's won vacant, then you legitimize it with quality wins.

And you're the guy who still called Judah Champ after Baldomir beat him. You really have no room to talk son.

I'm a joke? HHmm....lets see. You called Judah the Champ even though he lost, and you said Baldomir was still a top WW.

You think just because you say something, that's an explanation? DLH's jab one of the best? Sure, when he actually USES it. A grade "A" jab not getting pumped isn't **** child.

No, it was not as risky because DLH's size advantage is only an advantage when he uses it. Everyone knows DLH is a safety first fighter now. He's been safety first for close to 10 years now chump. Cotto had a bigger threat in front of him in Mosely then Mayweather did in DLH. SInce you think Mayweather is better then Cotto, and Shane's obviously the better then DLH, based on his wins and being active, there's no logic to conclude Mayweather taking a bigger risk.

That means he faded? And you're kissing DLH's ass as some dangerous fighter still, yet SHane FADES.

Danny...you are just an idiot who knows how to repeat what he's heard. :patsch

Can you tell me how many fights Hatton's weighed in @ 154? Cause Mayweather has been weighing in at the WW limit (or close) for years now. Did you have a point here? Or was this gem your real reply?

How does him getting to 150 mean he can make 147? IF he can make 147, don't you think it would make sense to fight @ 147 where all the best fighters are now?

Many people on this very website were picking Cotto to beat Floyd even before Cotto fought Zab.

no you're cherry picking too and not putting your own balls on the line.

why do people back up their own viewpoint to their own ends and then close the argument?

zab never held a belt legitimately and you know it - you also can work out the rest. don't assume people are ignorant please.

not only that but most the cotto fans want him to square off against oscar if he gets past margarito and they'd probably take it as a more credable win than floyds

Gomez was 18-3 when he fought Cotto. The only reason he even got that fight was because of Contender. Baldomir was ranked number 8 by the WBC you moron. How do you think he got there? He had to fight a title eliminator with Miguel Angel Rodriguez. Nobody on this thread has made any outrageous claims for or against Baldomir but you. I have stated Baldomir was probably the weakest unfied champ in welter history. However it was only your dumbass that made the assertion he was a journeyman, 20,000 posts and no life later it would seem you would know the correct definition of a journeyman by now.

:rofl Does that make him the world champ to me. So now we arent even arguing facts we are arguing semantics. I guess anyone who has a vacant title is not a real world champ in your loony tunes world. Seriously does posting on this forum 24/7 make you this stupid? Do your eyes hurt when you take them off the computer screen? I have never said tht Judah deserved the title, I said he was a top ranked Welter at the time he fought Mayweather, and at the time he fought Cotto his stock had fallen sharply. Get it right. :tired

Lol get a load of this guy. I could use your dumbass argument against you by saying Cotto got his face busted up by the 2nd worst Welter in boxing history. That Cory Spinks lost to the 2nd worst welter in boxing history and he is the 3rd worst fighter in boxing. But those of us that know boxing know that Judah is a supremely skilled boxer, with probably the fastest hands in the sport. We know that the only thing limiting Judah is the fact that he has no ring intelligence, the worst trainer in boxing and losing his cool too often. If he fought Baldomir 9 times out of 10 he wins. You would know upsets happen all the time. But you dont know this because you are dumb as bricks. Judah was the lineal champ, he beat Spinks, who beat Mayorga, who beat Forrest, who beat Mosley. And impressive lines, probably THE MOST impressive of any belt line in boxing today.
He was the champ you moron. This is reality. He was IBF champion of the world. Boy are you stupid. If he beats Floyd he is still the IBF champion of the world. And when did I say Baldomir was a top Welter, you just commented on me saying he was the worst lineal champ in welter history. Boy how stupid are you? Do you eat crayons?

Actually I said its should be ranked as one of the best today. Learn to read kid.

   Was Oscar safety first when he fought Floyd you buffoon. NO! he wasnt you dumbass. He was coming forward constantly. Behind and on and off jab. Infact he came forward so recklessly sometimes he was nearly KO'd. Damn boy.

So only based on wins? Who has Mosley beat since losing to Winky? David Estrada? A faded Fernando Vargas lol! Corrales with an injured hand? When Oscar just KO'd a champion a year before?

The logic I use is Cotto was 10 years Mosleys junior. Mayweather and Oscar were barely 4 years apart. Cotto was fighting at a more natural weight for him then 140. Mayweather was fighting at his 5th weight class against a guy who won a strap at middleweight. Mosley has lost everything that made him a great fighter. Oscar at 154 still has many of the tools that made him great. including an excellent jab, defense and workrate. Come on boy get with it.

I believe I said Shane faded when he is known for his stamina. He was winded heading into the middle rounds against Cotto. Why are you laughing did you find a dorito in your belly button fat boy? :hey

He weighs in above 150 even for his fights at 140 you moron. Seriously Hattons weight has been a discussion on this forum many a time. For someone with 20,000 posts and obviously no life you should be able to know atleast some facts by now. This was a reply to you saying 147 is Floyds natural weight, when its like saying juniormiddle is hattons weight class because he walks around above 150 lol.

That's BULL****, Shane was DEAD tired late against Cotto and it was obvious when he had him hurt and didn't do much to follow. Mosley is hardly prime, he's as dangerous as DLH way fighting Floyd, the fight wasn't too close for no reason. It's clearly hating when a big win like that is talking about as a "normal" win considering it's the man's first fight at the weight and against an elite fighter in DLH as Shane was considered an elite fighter(despite being old) going in against Cotto. Denying that is ignorance or pure hate.
