Ok--is the reverse true as well?

Hatton's only lose is from PBF--WHo has Pacman lost to? Are those guys better than PBF? Could Hatton have beaten the guys that Pac lost to?

the split for the maweather fight was 70/30 not 60/40. and mayweather eaned more with the 850k US PPVs @$50 each than hatton with his 1.25M UK PPVs @$25 each.

that means hatton also getting around 50% of the more lucrative US PPVs as well as 50% of the UK PPVs will earn more money this way compared to just getting all of the UK PPV revenues and none of the US PPVs. it's simple math, man.

Your last statement is only true if US PPVs equal more than 50% in volume of UK PPVs.

For Hatton v Mayweather, UK PPV sales were 1.4 million and US PPV sales were 0.8 million. Hatton would generate UK sales of the same magnitude for a fight against Pacquiao. That means US sales need to be at least 0.7 million for your statement to be true.

When has Pacquaio sold 700,000 PPVs in the US? He did against De La Hoya (1.25 million). But Mayweather also fought De La Hoya and that sold 2.4 million.

If Pacquiao could only sell half as many PPVs as Mayweather against one common opponent (De La Hoya), why is everyone assuming that he will sell exactly the same amount as Mayweather against another common opponent (Hatton)?

Hatton v Lazcano was on PPV (and sold a hell of a lot more than De La Hoya v Pacquiao on the same channel...), which kind of undermines your argument that Hatton can't carry a UK PPV without Pacquiao...

It was $2 to the pound in 2007.

How is 70% of 850,000 more than 100% of 1.3million buys?

    Its simple math man.

Pacman just shouldn't have gotten in such serious negotiations. It's a much tougher fight than he thought it would be. He wasn't so confident after all I guess. All this delay is about a big fight with Floyd. Pacman knows Hatton will be a tough fight like Marquez and if he were to lose, he could kiss Mayweather and big money goodbye. After Pac loses Mayweather/Pacman has lost it's luster and Pacman will have to earn a Mayweather matchup all over again. Very dissapointing of Pacman to bring his promoters and the boxing world so close to the matchup only to have second thoughts.

50/50 is more than fair but it's not about the money for Pac. It's about fighting Mayweather and truly realizing how much risk is involved in fighting Hatton. Seems like were getting business man first, P4P champ second.
