Right now I see the fight as even. Either guy could take it. Remember the hype Canelo was getting prior to Trout or the Mayweather fights. Everyone though Canelo would be Mayweather's conqueror, yet I knew that would not be true, you can see my post history to see I called the fight. I think Canelo maybe scrapped by Trout and Lara, depending on how you scored the fights. I didn't personally score those fights for Canelo, but those three fights (May, Trout, and Lara) are much more significant than anything GGG has done in his division. GGG needs to be tested against the likes of Murray or Quillen to be considered on even ground with regards to merits. Otherwise they were both hype before getting tested. I think GGG is the real deal, but who knows, the stiffs aren't much for gaging world class talent.

Middleweight hasn't really been strong since probably the Fab 4. It's usually 1 strong middleweight for many years until someone shows up.

When Hopkins was champ the other champs were Keith Holmes and William Joppy. Trinidad scorched Joppy, where as Hopkins ran through Holmes, Joppy, Trinidad and Howard Eastman without breaking a sweat. He then ran into the young lion in Taylor.

Taylor was getting flack for facing stiffs until he came across Pavlik. Pavlik got the same flack until Martinez came along. No one was too excited with the opponents Martinez had after Pavlik until GGG showed up. GGG is making short work of everyone as well. It's just a weak division overall.

We know canelos problems as a fighter already. He has balance issues, speed, can't cut the ring off for ****. Can't really fight inside. Canelo is a boxer counterpuncher w limited power.
Lara and mayweather made him look like a fool or Atleast Lara did.

Everyone is scared of Ggg, except Lara. Sign that fight. That would be an exciting fight. Where Canelo failed Ggg has the tools to succeed. Canelo was boring against Lara cuz he was outmatched.

    Good post.

I wonder if Murray turns the Monte Carlo fight down again, if GGG will take Lara up on his offer to make the fight.:think

Lara needs to move up where his speed and defense will be more of an asset. He's got the size, but he seems to want to run from the smaller quick handed fighters. Vs the 160 lb class, his counterpunching tools and defense would be exponentially increased.:thumbsup

I think Canelo will be better at 160lbs when he doesn't have to cut so much weight.
Don't think he beats GGG though.

Then why is he fighting Ishe Smith next at 154lbs?
He needs to move up to 160 and fight Danny Jacobs for the WBA belt and force a mandatory with GGG or have Al put him in with Taylor so he can unify.
He is 1 win away from the fight he supposedly wants.

How did Lara make Canelo look like a fool, Lara ran away from Canelo while Canelo forced the fight. Lara started getting on his bike the second Alvarez started banging on his body, if GGG is stronger than Lara might get stopped in the first few rounds.

The if Lara fought GGG the only thing Lara would do is throw a handful of jabs and run GTFOH with that bs. Canelo has a way better chance because he's a better fighter.

The overrated whiteboy poses no problems nor anything the Irish Mexican hasn't seen before. Caneloe by TKO. Like Money said, Caneloe will go on to big things.

I honestly really do not believe Canelo would KO any of GGG's opponents and I actually think a strong case can be made that GGG has faced better guys p4p never mind all together.

Stevens, Macklin, Geale and Rubio all go the distance and give Canelo a hard fight in my opinion.

I do not believe Trout, Angulo or even Lara would make it to the championship rounds with Golovkin.
