Yes it was close and yes it was great. No shame for Margo on that kind of loss.

I was really impressed on how Margo blocked incoming punches. He was parring those punches and redirecting it's directions. :yep

I agree. I thought Williams really showed he had heart coming back like that in the 12th. He had obviously been tired for a while, and his legs were starting to fade. He answered the questions about his chin and heart in this fight.

I think it was a GOOD fight but it was a clear win for Williams. His work rate and angles kept Margo off balance and unable to mount any kind of serious offense until the later rounds.

I gave Margo 4 rounds...5 at best due to the impact the few punches he landed really did damage....All of Pauls punches didn't do that much damage although he completely out worked Margo.

I think a rematch would be a better fight for Margo but would ultimately loose due to the workrate of Paul yet again. Margo just couldn't do enough of body work to win majority of the rounds, but he did his best. Paul is just the better fighter with more tools.

I really dont think Williams ran at all...aside from the 3rd or 4th round where he hopped on his bike fore 2 seconds just to re-set. Anytime that Paul was "RUNNING" he was throwing puches and pivoting to get angles for better shots. Running would be what Cheriff did against Bhop or what DLH did against Tito in the last rounds of their fight or what Floyd did with DLH majority of their fight.

Cintron did impress...I knew he'd win by KO...but not like that. He showed a lot of improvment and power. Emauel did a good job with his training. I think Williams would beat Cintron by UD or late stoppage.

Gomez impressed me as well...I think he's going to do well...is or will he be elite?? Don't know...I do think he could take JCC Jr....but I'm not confident until I see Gomez in there with a better fighter than a old and small Gatti.

i get what your saying, i guess it comes down to what you like....of course i like a high work rate, but alot of those punches were not landing.....and if floyd gets rounds for his defense, where was margo's love....paul threw over 1200 punches and only landed 200....

how do you think gomez would do against berto or julio.....

Margo did catch a lot of Williams punches, but he was still the more active fighter. Tony actually impressed me with his defense. It was surprising that Margo wasn't able to be as active as he normally is.....A lot of that was due to the fact Williams was just constantly throwing punches and not giving Margo a chance to get his rythm.....I will say this....IF Margo was able to up his work rate he would have beaten Williams. The punch stats that he put out was extremely low for him.

I actually think Gomez beats Juio pretty easily....Julio is a decent boxer with a lot of power, but Gomez is a better boxer than I had given him credit for. He's actually solid. I mean...he was leading off with straight rights...that's a thing that you only see in guys that are REALLY fast like Floyd or a prime Jones Jr.....Gomez has a lot of balls and he getting better. Julio reminds me of Trinidad, just not as powerful and technically solid, but like Trini...he had trouble with GOOD boxers.

Berto is too fast, strong and skilled for Gomez in My opinion although I think that would be Berto's toughest fight to date. I don't think it will be a mauling at the hands of Berto, but I think he wins clearly if it doesn't end by KO first.

Props to Margarito for fighting a war.
I still don't see why mexicans don't go crazy about Juan "Baby Bull" Diaz.. this kid has got it all, he's young, he's hungry.. he's unifying the titles and he's got a good resume already!

Juan Diaz is the mexican to look out for :happy

Great fight. Both fighters' stock rose in my opinion. But one thing is real clear now......PBF would be a nightmare for Margarito. His speed would be waaaay too much for him. PBF is also alot more experienced, conditioned, skilled and better than Williams so Margo would most likely have no chance of wearing him down either.

PBF would stop or UD him in a very one-sided fight....no doubt.

I think Floyd would beat Margo too, but I have to say PAUL's PUNCH OUT PUT won this fight for him....His speed too...but moreso his punch volume was the difference.

I KNOW floyd couldn't match Pauls Punch output and If Margo is able to apply more pressure on Floyd than he was able to do with Williams this past Saturday...who knows...We could witness Floyd buckling under Antonio's pressure fighting...I'm sure Floyd would make a few OUTSTANDING offenseive counters throughout the fight, showing us why he's the most talented and skilled fighter in our era, but Pressure can bust pipes and JLC and DLH proved Floyd can be beated with pressure.

Edge still in favor of Floyd, but Margo actually gave me MORE reasons to believe in Antonio.

I am not Margo fanatic, but styles make fights.

Margo got out boxed by a genetic freak. He didn't get beat up, but a good boxer with that height, reach, workrate, and stamina is just wrong for his style. It would be wrong for a lot of guys.

Doesn't mean anything about Margo against the other top guys as none of them are a Williams kind of fighter. Margo is still a game threat to any of the other guys.
