It was Bill Cayton wasnt it? And Jimmy Jacobs who did that collection, they would go around the world and buy up all the old fights...hence why Tyson had so much knowledge...people thought he was a brawler...are mistaken. Gaz see if you can put up that series on youtube....i wanna here the the introductions. One of my favs was heavyweight punchers...had dempsey, j. louis, foreman, marciano and tyson. You could really make a good analysis as each fight followed the other.
Yep, I think they were from Clayton/ Jacobs library. I put a load of the older fights up on WVBA a couple of years back. I'll do the intro later this week.:good God, I'm ****ing tired this morning!!!:|
Brilliant fella, really good stuff...and not bad quality whatsoever. One modern great Rocky would have given problems to is Evander Holyfield.
I'd be surprised but you'd have to give him great credit. Maybe put him in the top 15-20 All-Time in one fell swoop? I'm one of the few people who think Vit might be the easier fight for him.
I agree said it since Vitali comeback, Vitali was always clumsy, goofy with poor execution but had a huge intensity, was quick and hit hard enough and often enough along with his unorthodox ability to move out of the way of punches...made him a difficult man and i think his comeback has shown how good he actually was in 2003-2004. Since his comback that intensity has gone, he is not as dynamic, punches even more with just his arms rather putting his body behind it. He has a more vulnerable aura about him...Sosnowski, a very old and well past it Briggs were both able to last a very long time with him....Kirk Johnson was smashed to pieces, Williams and Sanders had to endure a hellish beating. Anyhow, as much as i respect both Klit brothers, they are fortunate that the talented fighters Solis, Gomez, Briggs come in far to fat, and that most of the opposition come in out of shape. When you do have good fighters coming in fighting shape they tend to be really small by today standards...Chambers 6'1 and 208 pound/ Chagaev 6'1 225 pudgy pounds. Adamek 6'2 215... My watch out list - R. Helenius K. Pulev
Pulev impressed me off the bat, matched fairly tough. If only Cammarelle turned pro, might have a champ worth being proud of :-(
Of course I watched the fights! lol. Bowe won the first big and knocked Holyfield out in the 3rd fight. Bowe was badly out of shape in the 2nd fight and drops a very close decison. So prime vs prime in 1992 Bowe clearly won yet u think they would split 5-5 in 10 fights? Thats just wishful thinking. Bowe proved in the 3 fights he had the beating of Holyfield H2H. That doesnt mean hes ranked higher in ATG..clearly Bowe doesnt because he cut his career short with his diet.
