Hey Kal i think Lennox said that tongue in cheek and has never had any ambition to come back since he retired. I think he liked the fact there would be a buzz for him to come back.

If he were to come back in 2008 at 43 year old and having not fought in 5 years, i think he'd need more than a 3 month camp to get ready mate.

Manny Steward said he wouldn't train him anyway.

The reason I believe a $50mill purse isn't unrealistic for Lewis against Vitali in '08, is that there was large interest in the fight once Vitali pounded Peter for the WBC. Also, the figure doesn't appear unfathomable to me, because in '95 King & Arum said they could put a combined purse of $80mill :shock: on the table for Tyson-Foreman to take place, with $50mill to Tyson & $30mill to Old George. However, Foreman declined the Superfight, claiming he won't take the fight if Don King & his contractual options were involved.

I totally agree, I was just going with the premise that he'd be taking on Vitali immediately.

When I said 3 months, I meant with 15 rounds hard sparring without headgear, every day of the camp, for the supreme dedication of a Peak Tyson (although his camps never needed to be longer than 8 weeks, we're dealing with a entirely different situation here.) However, I accept that Old Lewis would need several stern tune-ups, just over as short a period as possible, to not age too much further, but shake off some severe rust.

Maybe Steward was being serious when he stated that, but i'm sure a large enough suitcase of cash would sharply change his mind... :hey
