In all seriousness why can't the Vitali fans just move on...

Clearly, this thread starter is in love with Vitali and wanted to remind us all of what a great event he won.

One thing is for sure, the thread starter is not a Vitali hater who started this thread because quite frankly its the last straw they have to cling to as Vitali continues to beat the hell out of everyone in his path. I know they are all bums, who would lose to Big Foot Martin on his worst night, but I do miss seeing Vitali lose.

Damn you Vitali fans, damn you for not moving on.

Right. You've seen them, when absolutely no one else has? Were you sitting in the second row?

Anyone with a passing knowledge of boxing knows Vitali conclusively won the 6th.
The 5th was a toss-up, I could see it going to Lewis because he landed a couple of very powerful shots, but Vitali still landed more.

FWIW, Compubox had the totals as:

Klitschko
Jabs: 77/240
Power: 79/192
Total: 156/432

Lewis
Jabs: 52/120
Power: 50/102
Total: 102/222

- And that's with Vitali having slightly impaired vision for 3 rounds.

lewis has a big head, all 3 cuts were caused by his head. lol. i dont think he even landed a punch on klitchko all night, only can remember the uppercut if vitali didnt have a granite chin his head would of come clean off his neck, that happened x2 and a few thunderous overhand rights and a few jabs, not as many klitchko though he threw many jabs, he was looking to outpoint lewis, but when lewis knew he didnt have the energy he brang some real ****ed up, out of the trenches grit that klitchko's face couldnt deal with, so deal with it! had that happened any other fight all you klitnuthuggers would be screaming for the fight to be stopped. vitali can get over a loss to an atg, so what cant you ***gots!

Wanna bet? I've seen the scorecards because they were posted on a website shortly after the fight.

Lewis won the 6th round on all the cards.

It's the only round he won on all the cards and at the time of the stoppage I believe the scores were 58-56 for Vitali on all the scorecards.

But of course if one fighter can't continue due to the punches of another, that fighter looses regardless of the scorecards, which is what happened in this case.

As for the rematch, this is a fairly interesting take as to why there wasn't one.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/2010/mar/10/vitali-klitschko-lennox-lewis-mum

Plans for an eagerly anticipated rematch never materialised, with Klitschko yesterday offering an interesting explanation for why that was the case. "Lennox promised me but his mum decided he wasn't going to fight," said the 38-year-old ahead of the Laureus World Sports Awards in Abu Dhabi. "He invited me to London, without managers. He said he wanted to talk just together. I came to the room and his mum is there. We talked for two hours and his mum was looking at me and scanning me.
"After that I went away and he called me a couple of hours later and said, 'Sorry, but no'. I felt it wasn't his decision, his mum decided. I tried to change his decision, but it's difficult.

Yes, so it appears. Funny thing is I've been watching boxing for about 40 years now and those gashes were about as bad as I've ever seen any fighter cut, and yet, for some reason the stoppage of the fight seems contriversal to some. In my opinion it was shocking that the fight even lasted as long as it did. It probably should have been stopped in the 4th or 5th round given the state of his face, the fact he couldn't see out of one eye and the amount of blood he was swallowing.

Given the number of cuts that happened, it safe to say that all of them weren't fluky

While not official this a round by round scoring of the fight. The press obviously doesn't count so the 3 judges for the fight were Dr James Jen-Kin, Tom Kaczmarek, and Pat Russell.

http://articles.latimes.com/2003/jun/22/sports/sp-rounds22

ROUND 6

What happened: Blood is flowing from Klitschko's cut over his eye, but he lands a right and then a right-left early in the round. Lewis comes after him and lands a right and pushes him. Klitschko is bleeding badly as Lewis lands a right uppercut with 2 minutes left. Klitschko lands an uppercut himself as the referee separates them. Both fighters look very tired but both are throwing big punches. Klitschko lands a right and pushes Lewis across the ring. Lewis holds him and they stagger across the ring. As the bell sounds, Lewis lands an uppercut. The fight ends between rounds with Klitschko on his stool after the referee looks at his bad cut.

JUDGING:

10-9 Lewis J- Dr. James Jen-Kin

10-9 Lewis J-Kaczmarek

10-9 Lewis J-Russell

Maybe he won the 6th on the cards but Vitali won the round imo. Watch the 6th round for anyone who can't remember it well it starts at 3:38.
