The round was about even until lewis throw those punches at about the :17 sec mark. The three three power punches that to me made the difference in the round. he was throwing less punches than Vitali but they were certainly harder. He then finished the round off with a good hard upper cut in the last second of the round, and prior to that Vitali was holding onto Lewis and Lewis was trying to create space between the two of them. That to me is a Lewis round.
it was vitali that steped in on very short notice to fight lewis..and still knocked lewis from piller to post.
Wrong again. They both had the exact same time to train because they were both scheduled to fight on the same card. God some of you V.K. fans are dense. Why don't you at least brush up on what you think you're talking about.
Vitali won the first min of the round fairly easy. Clean punches I had Vitali landing about 6 and Lewis 2. Vitali did land a pretty good uppercut himself soon after the Lewis uppercut. I think Vitali landed about 9 good punches in the 6th round to Lewis 7. If I count lighter less meaningful punches Vitali landed 16 and Lewis 12. It was a close round but I score it for Vitali, I would not have a problem someone scoring it a draw round though.
******ed doctor?! look at the cut you moron! what the hell would it take for you to think its time to stop the fight? a BEHEADING?!
:smoke Same could be said about the LOUIS and SCHMELING . But MAX certainly isnt considered greater then JOE nowadays . He had the balls to rematch the NEWBY .:yep
I just watched the fight again today, two things I noticed. #1. Vitali had a tiny cut under his eye before the fight. #2. Lewis was scraping Vitalies face with his hair from the beginning of the fight. Now I would guess vitali even though he was cut before the fight still went in because it was a chance of a lifetime. As for above his eye before the fight I could not see if there was any damage from sparring.
ESB would collapse under the weight. I think the last crash was caused by Widdow and Radar arguing over Widdow's 'grainy stills' years ago. (I think that was Widdow winding Radar up about a headbutt too).
Fair enough, upon review it was closer than I remember but personally I still think Lewis won the round. Obviously it was a close fight.
No so much his hair, but their heads came together many times in the fight. There was a video that broke it down on youtube a while back. The gracing punch that started the cut, was actually followed by a clinch that saw their heads slam together, as well as Lewis ripping his glove into his face while holding his head. For all this prime Vitali crap, important to remember he had never been in a fight like that before and was clealry not prepared for Lennox's clinch warfare. Lewis used every dirty vet trick he picked up in his long pro career, to get away with a win. Experience was a huge factor in this one, but again, people don't want to analyze this fight intelligently, its only referenced now to taunt and bait.
I agree the fight should have been stopped, but utterly ******ed from someone who claims to have watched the sport for so long. This is the hyperbole that I enjoy from both sides of the argument. "WORST CUTS EVAH!" Just off the top of my head, ****ing Jones was sliced worse against Calzaghe, and the bleeding wasn't being controlled either, just running into his eye to the point it was closing, yet that fight was stupidly allowed to go.
